Cafe Mundo is the perfect place to hang out on your own or with friends when you're staying in the area. Free wifi is a plus. Head upstairs, figure out how to order espresso, a latte, or coffee drink of your choice. Sometimes you have to go up to the counter, sometimes a server will be a server. The atmosphere is totally relaxed & the food and coffee beverages are very good. We also ate dinner there - it was fresh, well prepared...excellent. Service - meh.

A woman began to set up and sing from downstairs (open to the loft-like dining area); Not the best, but it was time for us to leave anyway. We wended our way back downstairs, out the peaceful garden & back to where we were staying, quite satisfied with our dining experience.

Even with the confusing service & come-what-may entertainment, I'd definitely recommend Cafe Mundo. It feels right for the Nye area.

We went here for a special vacation date night to celebrate a very special event. Live music, intimate setting, cool vibe, rain hitting the tin roof (RUSTED!!! Sorry, 80's moment), etc. all looking for a promising spot. Crowded on prime nights (Fri Sat) and seating can be tricky as hell. Just come in and try to find a spot. Guerrilla seating tactics. No real hostess, and servers / bussers will clear a table for you but you have to stake it out. This kills the chill vibe a wee bit.

Live band on Saturday night was grand. Elderly guitar player (ask about his amazing mural hanging above the door) and band were in perfect groove and a lot of fun. Locals dancing, lots of coulour, etc.

Moderate prices and a limited, but fun menu. Quality, fresh food. No complaints there. Our special night wasn't really recognized by our server. I didn't expect a cake and sex, but at least make it seem like you are interested. Came in and dined the next night and had a carbon copy experience with the same sterility. Cafe Mundo doesn't really connect with their customers, locals or otherwise. Sad, because this place could be so amazing if the staff just put some heart in it.

The lavatory is a tricky adventure, stairs, obstacles, leaky pipes...caution for the elderly and ADA crowd.

Cafe Mundu isn't a bad spot. I just wished that it liked us as much as we want to like it.

I had been here once before and had good food and service, so I thought I would take my daughter and granddaughter here for lunch. The wait for food was long even though it was not crowded and when we got the food it was cold. Cold soup and cold grilled cheese..ugh. When I told the waiter he just shrugged his shoulders and kept moving. We won't return and I am noticing this seems to be the norm for cafes in Nye beach are. We had a similar experience at another one.

Good food with great preparation. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for food to be served. The ambiance is back yard chick with questionable sanitation

This small, intimate spot near Nye Beach has an authentic hippie vibe, very thoughtful crew, variety of menu choices including vegan options. The overgown garden with hand made seating is charming, well protected from wind. We enjoyed it very much.
