Related to the Pacific Maritime and Heritage Center which also keeps the same hours. It's a small house with four rooms of exhibits. The woman there was very informative and it was like we got a personal guided tour (much like we did at the PM&HC). Frankly these museums are much more educational than the tourist traps in town that are higher rated here. Drop by, learn something, and toss some cash in the donation box.

I must say though that it's of much more interest to visitors somewhat familiar with the Oregon coast. If you are visiting Newport first time from, say, Chicago, you probably won't find it interesting.

Great little find with yet another passionate, informational guide to chat with about all the interesting trinkets inside. I wish they had more street signs and advertising, I would have come years ago.

I am a member of the Lincoln County Historical Society and am prompted to post a simple explanation for the "40,000" artifacts negative review. Sometimes the cyber world zeros in on a few words of a sentence. The fact is that there are over 40,000 artifacts in the LCHS COLLECTION. Burrows House has a donation box instead of an admission fee to support the efforts of the Historical Society.

We did not get to go into this lighthouse because we arrived too early; but, I like it better than the Yaquina Lighthouse because it was not as touristy. It was not crowded, had a lovely view and garden at the lighthouse. The walk to the lighthouse along the beach or path was pleasant.
