The hotel is extremely beautiful , amazing food . But it is fancy and more for a weekend getaway with your loved one.. they have a pool and hot tub . A cute book you can write in and tell about your stay , that how I learned about pete. In room 104. You can feed him. The views are out of this world. . Some of the staff are rude when 8:30 hits. Closing time.. and we did have to wait on our room and dinner reservations . They did make that right and refund me 100$ back 50 for next stay and 50 for food

Room tip: If you want a balcony make sure you ask for it because we learned the hard way that not all rooms have a balcony

Hello,
I am pleased to know you enjoyed the Inn, the food and the incredible views. And yes, romance is always in the air at the Inn, that’s for sure. Just recently a “Will you marry me, Sue?” proposal appeared in the sand in front of the hotel. Our bellman, Marc, is quite the talented sand artist and was asked to write it as a surprise. (Sue accepted, by the way!) In addition to special messages, Marc often draws elaborate designs, when the sand is right, to the delight of all our guests. And although it may feel “fancy” at the Inn, many families comment on the fun they find here too. You mentioned the pool. We also have a game room, numerous room configurations to accommodate families of all sizes and our easy beach access to nearby tide pools and beach exploration offers lots of things to do for all ages.

We strive to offer our guests excellent and courteous service at all times. My apologies if you experienced anything less. And please, do ask for a balcony when you return. Some of our room remodels eliminated the balcony in order to enlarge the living space. But our floor-to-ceiling windows in all rooms, including all bedrooms, continue to offer spectacular ocean views. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay. We hope to see you again soon. Susan Burr, General Manager

We had been given a bait and switch at another hotel in town. It was a hot August weekend and we did not think we would be able to find a available hotel room on the coast. the Inn at Spanish Head had a room available. We were pleasantly surprised. It was a beautiful ocean front room. My kids loved the pool and hot tub area. It had great beach access and the staff was very pleasant.

Hello,
It’s been busy here on the Oregon coast this August with the warm temperatures in the Valley, so we are delighted we could accommodate you and your family when others could not. And no matter what room you stay in here, it will be oceanfront with floor-to-ceiling windows to bring the ocean and wonderful views right to you. Guests often tell me how much they enjoy the sound of the waves at night as they fall to sleep. Or seeing the twinkling stars at night. A real treat is witnessing a full moon casting its glow over the Pacific as you lay in bed. I hope you’ll remember the Inn next time you travel to the coast. We’d love to see you and your family again. Susan Burr, General Manager

Our stay started by pulling in to the driveway and almost bottoming out our car, the entrance is so steep that you can't see in front of the car, the driveway and parking area in front of the hotel was torn up and full of potholes. Check-in was easy and fast, but the hotel was old and dated, the carpeting was old and worn the exterior of the hotel is dirty and in need of painting. The room was clean but dated, bed was very comfortable, the view was beautiful from inside the room and on the balcony. The out door pool was awesome, the beach access was great the hot tub was relaxing. Both me and my wife couldn't get into the sauna (cards didn't work) we didn't bother checking with the front desk. The location of this hotel is great but they really need to update for what they charge.

Thank you.

Hello Dave,
I very glad to know there are many things about the Inn you and your wife enjoyed during your stay. We are proud of our service both at the front desk and housekeeping, our amenities such as the pool and hot tub, a comfortable bed and our great beach access. We like to boast about the view as well. Of course, except for our oceanfront location, all oceanfront rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, quite honestly we can’t take credit for how spectacular the view really is.

But, I am sorry about your first impression of the Inn. Because the Inn is built right into the ocean cliffs and right on the beach with Highway 101 to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west, creating automobile access did prove to be a challenge, as you described. It can be a surprise to first-time guests, but it generally does not present a problem. We are also doing some updating in our front parking lot, so I apologize for its condition. As soon as the construction is complete, those pot holes will be eliminated.

The Inn is a condominium hotel and each of our rooms is individually decorated by its owner. We are continually updating rooms, as needed. I also want to let you know that we work hard to keep the outside of the Inn in as good of shape as possible. Being oceanfront can be a challenge, but we have full-time window washers to make sure your view is the best possible. And our maintenance crew works diligently to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests.

And I am sorry you were not able to access the saunas. I know our front desk would have readily solved the problem, if you had been able to take the time.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you enjoyed your stay and what we can do to make it better next time. We hope to see you again soon! Susan Burr, General Manager

We had 2 adjoining rooms with an Ocean View. Inn at Spanish Head is a beautiful hotel with clean well stocked rooms and huge balconies. I wish we could have spent the whole summer there but alas we were just passing through. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was perfect. If you get a chance to eat at the restaurant (and you are female) make sure to visit the lady's rest room for a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean. Also a special shout out to our waiter Felix for excellent service and also for making my birthday dinner even more special with a piece of cheese cake. I can't wait to come back to the Oregon Coast so I can spend more time here. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hello Marianne,
We are honored that we could help you celebrate your birthday with a perfect dinner, cheese cake, excellent service and oceanfront time on the Oregon coast. Plus, you discovered the 10th-floor women’s restroom! It’s a bit of a hidden secret, but once discovered, always remembered. We hope you also discovered the Inn’s oceanfront outdoor pool and enclosed hot tub, the nearby tide pools, the joy of room service, our game room, the saunas and wonders of the Pacific Ocean as you walked miles of beach right outside our 1st-floor door. Did you spot any whales? See the green flash as the sun slipped over the ocean’s edge? It doesn’t appear often, but now and then it can be seen. Or did you wake up during the night and from your bedroom window see the light of the moon reflecting over the ocean? An incredibly peaceful sight. If you missed any of these, we hope you are able to come back again. Perhaps for another slice of birthday cheese cake? Thank you for telling us about your stay at the Inn. For our trip along the OR coast, we decided to spend one night directly on the coast and the Inn at Spanish Head fit the bill. You enter from Highway 101 on the 9th floor -- the place is definitely built into the cliff as the 1st floor puts you directly on the beach. We had a 1-BR Suite with a HUGE balcony off both the bedroom and the living room. Opening the sliders in both rooms helped me feel enveloped by the ocean -- divine! The bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and living room were more than we could enjoy for our short visit. We could easily see staying here and then traveling north or south each day and using the place as a base camp. So easy to have breakfast in the room in the morning before setting out for the day's adventures. The room was decorated by the "owners" and our suite was incredibly sweet! :)

Room tip: All rooms have ocean views so you can't go wrong!

Hello Barbara,
As I read through your review, I kept thinking, “This sounds like it could be a brochure for the Inn.” Thank you for your very nice description of our hotel. The Inn is such a unique property for all the reasons you described … and more! Others have also told me you can truly “feel” the excitement and beauty of the Pacific Ocean because of our oceanfront location and floor-to-ceiling windows in all rooms, including all the bedrooms. It appears the tides were quite low while you were here, so I hope you were able to explore the nearby tide pools and discover all wonders they hold. But I have to admit, simply relaxing on your balcony and watching the waves, the sea birds, the people on the beach, the cloud formations, evening sunsets or a colorful kite can also an awesome way to spend your time here at the Inn. We hope you can come back soon and plan many day adventures while you are here. Susan Burr, General Manager
