I recommend the breakfast....and on Sundays it gets busy. The breakfast is huge, fresh and keep it coming...lol
Seriously, think decor from the 70s, and not the cool part of the 70s...servers been there a 1000 years....a true greasy spoon...

Thank Rikkilin

Looking for a place to grab a breakfast. When we walked in I was impressed, however, they had a nice menu and the prices were low. Really, one of the best breakfasts I've had while traveling in a long time. Good service, well prepared and floors clean.

Great menu and friendly staff makes this cafe homey and the food was clean and well prepared. Reasonable prices and great portions. Hamburgers, seafood, Swedish potato pancakes, stewed cabbage, for example.

Stopped for a burger, Viking was recommended by a local business we were just looking for a good old fashioned burger and fries. Got that 100% A few days later needed a place to eat dinner in Junction City and thought we would try the Chinese place but they were closed due to a family memorial, so back to the Viking Inn, hubby had burger and fries, I had their special dinner Cornish game hen. Came with twice baked potato salad vegetable and was delicious, our awesome waitress brought us both a small desert dish. So nice to have an old fashioned dinner as apposed to fast food junk. Would give it 5 stars but building is very run down.

While waiting for some recall work on our vehicle, we tried this restaurant. The two restaurants recommended by the Service staff were not open for breakfast so the courtesy driver dropped us off at the Viking Inn. The service was very good, breakfast was good - average - but the coffee which we were told they ground themselves was so weak it was tasteless. No half and half or Splenda. The restaurant is very dark inside (wood paneling and dark carpet) and desperately needs updating. The restroom was clean as was the floor in the restaurant.

I had a hamburger steak with hashbrowns, 2 eggs and toast. The food arrived hot. The hamburger steak was hand made, no frozen patty. My husband had bacon/links, eggs, hashbrowns and toast. He rated his breakfast as an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.

While we were there, a few locals, mostly individuals (senior men), did come in. It wasn't like a local hangout as they sat by themselves, not in a group. The lone waitress greeted a couple of the customers by name. When we arrived, about 10 am, there was only one other person in the dining room and no cars in the lot. We may have missed a morning busy time and were too early for any lunch customers.

We had eaten here a couple times several years ago. It had not changed.
