Most beaches on the west coast are not accessible to cars, but this one is! Its so big there is space for everyone with room to spare. Bring a kite, kids and dogs... FUN!

Have you ever wanted to go to the beach but were wondering how all the "beach stuff" was going to get from the car, through all that loose sand where its hard to walk, to the beach? Then back again?

This is not a problem at Del Rey, simply drive. Once out on the beach you can turn north (recommended) and drive for miles looking for the right spot to set up and have your beach fun. Once done for the day, the packing the car is just as simple, with more time spent enjoying the beach instead of getting from the parking lot to the beach.

You can enter the beach at Gearhart, Sunset Beach, or Fort Stevens State Park. Thats almost 20 miles of beach to select your spot or simply drive.

Want to look for shells but its too windy outside? No problem - just drive and scan for shells from the comfort of your own car.

I liked that beach. It has lots of dunes and the beach was huge! It is perfect for hiking!

I saw some beautiful flowers.

I saw a mountain nearby.

Something unique, many cars drive on the beach.

The ocean was not wild.

What a great hike we had!

We went to the south side (off Pacific, turn at Dairy Queen off 101) of the beach to clam April 9. We had no luck but there was street parking with grills and picnic tables. It was beautiful. There is a trail through the sea grass dunes and a few benches. Peaceful and quiet on weekdays when he weather is cooperating.
