We enjoyed the remodeled pool and of course the beach access is the best on the Oregon coast. The location is the only thing keeping this place afloat!
However; our room was really outdated and dingy feeling. The bedding was old and had "balls" all over from being over used. We requested extra blankets from the front desk and when they arrived they were worse than the bedding that was on the beds...the blankets were really gross feeling and should have been thrown out a long time ago.
We went down to the restaurant to order lunch and sat in the bar while waiting for our orders. There were flys flying around. The best part was that soon after we ordered a drink the bartender told us that he was going to step away for a minute. We finished our drinks and waited for the bartender to return so that we could clear up the dink tab...to learn that the bartender had left!

Room tip: Ask for an updated room

Thank you so much for sending us your comments on your stay. I have forwarded this to my management team for training purposes and will be sure your next dining experience is more pleasant. I will also be checking on the condition of our bedding as we have not had those comments before, so we will be sure to check on their condition. We do have an incredible oceanfront location and pool/spa area and hope you fully enjoyed those amenities. We are also adding some great things in 2017, hopefully you will give us a second chance at a first impression.

Thanks again for your time,

We stayed at Driftwood Shores for two nights. Our room was very clean; the bathroom was sparkling. The mattress was firm and comfortable. We enjoyed using the indoor, heated swimming pool and relaxing in the spa. We also enjoyed taking long walks on the beach. The view from our room was fabulous!

Room tip: Rooms on ground floor have patio access to beach; higher floors have balcony with views of ocean.

This spot relies on it's unbelievable location to lure travelers, but has been lazy in keeping the place current and up to date. Decor, outside and rooms look like they haven't been updated since about 1978. Easy to hear neighbors, front desk area looks like it's from a old supper club in Iowa somewhere. Staff is nice enough, but it's ridiculous to have to take 'impressions' of credit cards?? guess we really are back in 1978. With such a location, what a load of missed opportunities to capitalize with an investment in updates and a more professional appearance. "Homey"? yeah.. no. Old

Room tip: Upper floors would save you from listening to neighbors above...

This place had the best reviews in the Florence Oregon area, but it was so outdated and uncomfortable. We had a refrigerator which growled all night, a giant spider, and noise from
Above and next door. Very dated.

Very easy to find off of 101, check in was a breeze, we had reserved a 3 bedroom suite for our family. Upon checking in we got to chose what floor we were on. Unobstructed views from every room! So it doesn't matter where you end up! Room was very clean, pots and pans, plates and flatware were all there in the kitchen. Coffee and coffee maker for this early riser. They have a washer and dryer available if it is something you are looking for, $2.75 in quarters for one load to wash and dry! Fred Meyer is minutes away for one stop shopping needs. Easy access to the beach and a fantastic pool with spray park features for the kiddos. We had take out from the hotels on site restaurant and it was the best food we have had since arriving in Florence, get the Bleu Cheese Wedge, you will thank me! Can't wait to get back here, next time we will stay longer!
