My sister inlaw and I went here before Christmas and both of us found some unusual and fun gifts. We even found gifts for ourselves.
There are ships like this in most every city—places to purchase elegant gifts and home accessories, a few food products, and jewelry. I live near Cannon Beach and there are similar shops there. This shop is as good as such places get. I purchased a linen tablecloth, a runner, six plates, and a drink mix. (Oh, yes, some food too!)
The shop assistants were pleasant, even though I still had on my Oregon Country Fair mask and my husband is generally scruffy. It was my favorite stop but one, on our trip.
If you need to bring home an upscale gift to someone with style, this is where you want to look.
So glad you enjoyed the store! Come visit us next time you're at in Eugene!
I had worked in the downtown area for a lot of years and often purchased items from very expensive blankets to smaller items.
I looked forward to spending some time here while my husband attended an appointment nearby. It had been over a year since last visiting.
From the time I walked into the store around 2 pm, until I left about 10 minutes later, an older woman I guessed to be the manager - berated staff in a loud voice you could hear throughout the store about how a particular area's display was arranged. It was a horrid experience that I kept just wishing would STOP - I left still hearing it go on...and on...
Okay duckfantwo,
Yes, it was probably me “berating” people as you say! I prefer to think of it as being extremely clear about what I’m looking for.
And yes I know I can bark. My standards are high and I want everything just so. Please know I’m working on reining it in and sorry it upset you. Thanks for the feedback.

This store has wonderfully beautiful and unique items. However, when my husband (who is not Caucasian) and I visited the store the young ladies working there continued to ask him to set down the plants we had just purchased at the Saturday market and followed him around like he was going to steal something. There were other people in the store carrying things from the Saturday market who they did not insist set them down. Discriminatory? Yes. For a store that serves a ethnically and racially diverse community one would expect that owners and operators of any establishment (no matter how 'high-end') treat any customer with dignity and respect. We will not be shopping here again.
Dear Buffalo Heart –
First off, I want you to know that we believe ALL customers regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or financial status are entitled to a lovely shopping experience at Passionflower. I am sorry yours was less than stellar. Please know I expect all my employees to offer customers the opportunity to put their bags down as a courtesy. I’m not sure why you think offering this courtesy is a bad thing. And frankly, it’s in our interest to have all our customers with their hands free so they can pick up and touch things (and hopefully want to buy them). If I asked your husband , “Did he want to put his plants down”, it was probably because I saw him struggling to look at product and hold his goods at the same time. And if the shop girls didn’t offer this service to everyone in the store, it wasn’t that your husband was being singled out, it was that they weren’t doing their job with other customers. Hopefully, you will understand that my people are trained to offer all shoppers the opportunity to put bags and groceries down while they shop. It’s not personal You and your husband were definitely not being discriminated against. But I am very, very sorry that you felt that way. Thanks for the feedback as I’m hoping it will help us offer an even better experience to everyone who crosses our threshold. Please come back as we’d love to serve you again.
