Food tasted good (thus 3 stars) BUT we were with a group of just over 30. Reservation made way in advance. Three menu choices with NO substitutions even if allergies. Only dessert choice was chocolate. Waiter said if allergic to chocolate then just don't eat dessert! Only vegetable choice was brussels sprouts which did not appeal to many in our group. Took more than 45+ minutes from first person served until last person. First tables were finished with dishes cleared before others were finally served. It took our table 1 hour and 15 minutes from time order was placed until food received. Restaurant was not busy, mostly just our group.

Excellent little restaurant in the middle of nowhere. They have some fine dining fare on the menu that is very surprising.

We had been on the road a while and we wanted to spoil ourselves a little bit. SIt back, relax, have some wine....I would have opted to start with "bread" but was kind of shocked by the sticker price--$8. I'm sure it would have been lovely, but that seemed steep. We shared the filet mignon and it did not disappoint, cooked just right, tasty. The waitress asked if we wanted any bread with that, which still would have been just what we needed, but I wasn't springing for it, and the waitress wasn't saying, and I wasn't asking, if it were included. (Perhaps make a note on the menu? Maybe even go so far as add a dollar or such to each entree and just offer it up?) Our waitress seemed new-ish and her service was kind of clunky. The bartender who brought our drinks was livelier and just a little sassy, which we found amusing, refreshing and inspiring. I don't know if we'll ever be in Elk City again, but if we are, we'll be back.
