Came to this diner with a friend yesterday. Walked into a deli, and to my surprise, into a restaurant! Service was just okay but the food was phenomenal! As someone who is gluten free, most sandwich places don’t offer GF bread at all. This sandwich was incredible! The corned beef was warm and juicy and the gf bread didnt taste like cardboard. Would totally recommend to anyone!

Toward the end of a great Thanksgiving weekend, we gathered for lunch at C&L's to treat the newest member of the family to a Reuben. He LOVED it as did most everyone else their various white fish, white fish salad, egg and other dishes. I wished my white fish salad had come with a bagel that tasted a bit more like a N.Y. style bagel and had been toasted, but even I enjoyed the meal. While we awaited our food a guy at the table behind us. got an order of BBQ ribs that was HUGE. After tasting it, he leaned over to tell us that he himself runs a BBQ restaurant and that Corny & Penny's were the best he'd ever had. That's pretty high praise. Our waitress was perfect for a place like this. She set a tempo for ordering and kept a faultless thumb on every step on the meal, all without being abrupt, sour or on any way objectionable: she kept everything moving smoothly and on pace. Professional all the way!

Corky and Lenny's hasn't changed much since we first went to their original branch 25 years ago. Good pastrami, large portions, variety of desserts. Meals more hearty than healthy. Mostly older patrons. Very casual. Waitresses friendly and efficient, if somewhat overworked.
