When we are in Troy, Ohio we never miss the change to bring home bread from Bakehouse. The cranberry Bread is a perfect for a dessert or to just eat alone. Always look forward to visiting Bakehouse again.
great service food excellent nice friendly staff not too expensive cookies are too die for worth the visit
On the recommendation contained in a book about Interstate 75 travel we stopped here. We arrived about a half hour before closing and wanted to have a grilled sandwich. However we were told that the grill had already closed. I guess some restaurants operate that way but to me if you're open you should be open for all purposes. We did have a pastry, and a home made oatmeal "power bar", which were good. The place was obviously very popular with locals. I am not sure if it is worth the detour from I 75, although one could have a satisfying lunch there, I believe.
We picked up a leaflet about Troy in the US airforce museum in Dayton and decided to visit the town. We had lunch here and bought a fruit pie and cake to take with us. It is a great bakery and cafe- you wish you could try everything- it all looks so good.
We had soups, sandwiches, and egg soufflé. Everything was lovely. There is a European focus on the bread and pastries which for us as we are British is brilliant and is something not often found in the US. It is obviously appreciated locally too as the cafe and bakery is a very popular place. It was the day before the strawberry festival when we visited and we just could not resist trying out the chocolate strawberries-yummy. Highly recommended.
