The room is extremely clean, which is a top priority for me when traveling. Two restaurants are within walking distance too. If you are looking for clean and comfortable, you have found the right place!

We stopped here on our way to the Smoky's. The front desk employee was wonderful. Now for our room. It smelled musty upon entering. I didn't want to switch rooms because it was very late and I could deal with the smell. Even though our room appeared clean, which for the most part I really think it was, the bathroom was half cleaned because our toilet was full of toilet paper and something else...not even sure what it was! The ceilings had numerous water stains on them. Just paint them if the problem was fixed! The lamp shade looked like it was sliced with a knife. How do you not see that when cleaning a room? The bed skirt had numerous stains on it. Those are supposed to be washed every month? I checked the sheets and mattress/covers for bugs and there were none. Just a wash of the bedding and some easy cosmetic upkeep would have given more stars. Also, the musty smell could be from the air conditioner. The breakfast was fine and the area was clean. I won't return but for those on a budget, this is a good hotel. Maybe it was just my room with issues.

First, this was not our first stay at this hotel. Previously, this Quality Inn was a Comfort Inn, and was our first choice when staying in the area. It provided clean comfy rooms and a decent breakfast offering in the mornings. We've loved - and still love - the hotel staff. Unfortunately, we'll not be back.

We stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday, as we were in town to visit relatives. We've stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past, but this will likely be our last stay. Previously, we found clean, comfortable rooms in which everything worked; this stay was quite different. Upon entrance, we found a beer bottle cap on the floor. We thought nothing of it and brought up our luggage. Then we found that the desk was very sticky. Thinking this was just an oversight from housekeeping, we figured we'd handle it later (It was *very* late at night when we arrived) and continued to bring our luggage up (not as easy as it might have been, as we were on the 2nd floor and there's no elevator). It was cold outside, yet the room's air conditioner was on. So we turned on the heat.... and found that the thermostat basically had two settings: Hot and Cold. Inside of ten minutes, the room would be uncomfortably warm or cool. Hmm. So we bundled up and made the best of it.

Next morning, we were able to get an extra washcloth to wipe down the desk, as housekeeping was gone. The damp cloth instantly smelled of stale beer. The desk was nearly covered in it. Very unusual for the Comfort Inn (now a Quality Inn) that we were used to. But at this point, at least, the desktop was now clean and usable. So we finished tidying up, and headed out for the actual purpose of our trip, which was to visit nearby family - not to keep tidying up this hotel.

Came back to discover that the toilet basically doesn't flush. Or at least, it won't flush with enough force to handle anything beyond a few bits of toilet paper. This was yet another experience in which we kept trying to fix something and wound up keeping the plunger up in the room. Housekeeping was understandably absent for Thanksgiving day, so without this tool the room was quite useless. At one point desk staff offered to switch us to another room, but at that point we really didn't have the time. We'd shifted our clothes into the closet and dresser, and were on a schedule.

Then there was the matter of the "new" internet. The ISP, Value Point Networks, was providing a problematic version of WiFi in which the internet traffic is routed through an open browser page. This allows them to control what sites you visit - and hijacks your computer's DNS requests. If you are using Kaspersky Internet Security, you won't be able to use this WiFi at all, because it's considerably more dangerous than any other public WiFi encountered.

Finally, after an interesting week in the hotel, we tried to discuss this with management. From what we could tell, this room should never have been assigned at all - it was dirty and its fixtures simply weren't working right. Management disagreed and insisted it was our fault for not having moved out of the room, implying that the hotel's customers are its quality control department. After a short argument about the room's issues, we were offered a small discount for our next stay, but no apologies whatsoever. Thanks, but no thanks, Quality Inn. We're not your QC department, and while staff was friendly and helpful (within their limits; they're housekeeping, not plumbers), your attitude implies that you don't have any sort of reason to care what sort of experience your guests have. We beg to differ, and we'll be voting with our feet.

Room tip: Avoid the 2nd floor if possible.

Returning to TN on a Sunday after visiting family in MI, something went wrong with the car's cooling system. We limped into Sidney, parked at a defunct gas station, and walked to the Quality Inn. At 10:30 Am Barb found us a room for overnight until we could find an open garage on Monday and gave us the best rate because it was an emergency. The king-bed room was clean, well-appointed with anything a traveler could want. Next dilemma was our car contained a cooler with 40# of fresh Lake Superior fish we were bringing back. Cooler was too heavy to carry. No cab or Uber in Sidney. Barb stepped in. In 90 minutes she would be off work and would take us to the car, load our cooler and luggage and bring us back to the hotel. She did all that for us or we would have been dumping all that lovely trout and white fish along the highway. GO, BARB!!

I have stayed here several times. I guess it is my go to lodging when in the area. I would rate it as maybe slightly above average for a Quality Inn. Rooms are fine. Mine is always clean and the bed is comfortable. Internet could be a bit better but works ok for the most part. Breakfast is maybe a notch below many of the Choice Hotels that I have stayed. Limited selections, same eggs and sausage every morning. Typical crumbly and dry eggs that I find at many of these hotels. What is worse here is that breakfast is posted as 6:00 to 9:00. Two mornings in a row though when I got down there between 8:15 and 8:30, there were no eggs or sausage at all. They don't pay attention to the breakfast area it seems. Overall though, this is an OK hotel and I will stay here again.
