This gallery is one of the reasons we attend First Friday's in Mount Vernon. Always has something interesting.

The Schnormeier Gallery is quaint and always has great artwork. I’ve been to several different art receptions here and they are always fun and lively. After stopping here, be sure to head about 5 miles down the road to the Gund Gallery at Kenyon College. Both of these galleries are a great addition to the town of Mount Vernon and can be enjoyed by all ages.

On this particular visit I was mainly interested in the photographs taken of Ariel Foundation Park in Mt Vernon. These vibrant and history telling photos showed the demolition of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass building to the awesome transformation of Ariel Foundation Park in Mt Vernon, Oh. However, There were exquisite paintings and sculptors on display as well provided by various artists. Truly, a Gallery worth seeing.

Mt. Vernon doesn't have enough art on offer, in my opinion, so I appreciate being able to stop in at Schnormeier Gallery to see what the Nazarene students have been working on. The exhibit I saw was refreshing and inspiring; made you feel as though you'd had a trip to the beach. Have a look down the hall near the graphics design classroom - there is some excellent student work hanging on the walls. Whatever receptionist is on duty for the day has always been friendly and welcoming.

My wife, family & friends and I have been several times and have purchased works from the gallery. It is nice to visit and see what they have and Mt Vernon is lucky to have a place like this conveniently downtown.
