In a rainstorm, we stopped for a drink after driving around this lovely old town. This is a very local old house conversion with lots of colourful teapots on display, tables set close together in the front two rooms. One gets involved in the locals’ conversations but that is Tassie! The coffee and scallops (wrapped in a pancake) were good and fairly inexpensive. We enjoyed this visit.

This is another daytime rustic Oatlands cafe, suitable for brunch, lunch or tea and coffee. My two visits this time were for coffee. Danny is one of the two best cafe-coffee makers that I came across in a recent visit to Tasmania. The pancakes and crepes are apparently also very good, but for dietary reasons I had to dodge them. Will certainly continue to patronise it.

We stopped here for breakfast and coffee at opening time. Said good morning to the man who was setting up the cafe, who ignored us and shoved through our group, then glared at us like we weren't welcome. We all agreed to travel on to Campbelltown, where we had a delightful breakfast, great coffee and pleasant service from a local cafe there.

Cheap, filling meals in a wonderful environment. Savoury crepes are to die-for, sweat pancakes & crepes are fresh & delicious, soup, sandwiches and scones are all great choices. Best place to stop for meal between the two major cities of Tasmania!
