Description: We are a really cool wine bar/restaurant doing wicked wood fired pizza and seriously good bistro style meals. We use fresh seasonal local produce. Set in a small seaside town in Tasmania's deep south, we deal directly with local seafood producers, farmers and fruit and vegetable growers. The atmosphere is relaxed with great ambience, awesome music and a chilled vibe. Please call for bookings. Also during winter we have shorter trading times and a simpler menu.

We wish we had found this place earlier. We were staying in Dover. The pizza'a are about the best I've had. There was other selections from seafood to grill. The staff were just great. It's also has a lovely and warm feeling, with own fires. Highly recommend it.

Went for dinner, prebooked, staff were lovely. Not an extensive menu by any means. We were eager to try local seafood. However we didn't feel like the deep fried seafood basket. Decided on steak, asked for sauce (mushroom) which they didn't have. Asked if they could make gravy, which they said they couldn't. Then asked for maybe cream garlic sauce as last resort. Which they couldn't make either. Ended up leaving and going to rsl. Nice place, but it seems the non-extensive menu is strict and they are unable to accommodate outside of this.

Lovely and bright modern facilities. Very spacious layout of tables and a good menu. We had the fishermans basket which was very tasty but having had a fishermans platter at another restaurant which was not fried and crumbed then I would prefer the uncrumbed version. Still this may not be everyone's choice.

Not only was the food and service really awesome here, but the staff were very friendly and willing to chat. In addition they made a deconstructed meat pizza for my dog who was waiting at an outside table!

In the tiny town of Dover there aren't many dining options but The Post Office surely makes up for this. We dropped in late one afternoon for drinks and seafood. The squid was the best we've had - tender and coated in deliciousness, served with salad and a tangy dressing. Perfect with a glass of Tassie sparkling. The seafood plate was good - but I ordered it without realising it was all crumbed and fried. After a shore side walk we returned for a take away scallop pizza - delicious! The service was excellent.
