“Historic Town Church”
Review of St Editha's Church

St Editha's Church
Reviewed 22 April 2018

We visited Tamworth and St Editha's church which is located in the centre of the town near the busy market area.
It is a lovely historic church dating back to Saxon times. It has a large tower and the church is worth visiting inside and also around the building on the outside to get the scale of it. The windows are lovely.

Just called in from the hustle and bustle of town shopping and had a quick look round. Would like to return to look in more detail. The ladies on duty were very friendly and welcoming without wanting to push information at you.

What a beautiful Church this is, both inside and outside. Situated in the middle of a bustling Town Centre it has lots of charm and character.

Very big and clean inside, with gorgeous stain glassed Windows that you could be looking at for hours.

Lovely building and venue for a Wedding

Popped in as never been into Tamworth town centre before. Had to get past builders' vans first of all and then once inside there's scaffolding in the chancel. In the NW corner is a bit of a sprawling book shop/souvenir shop that is best described as a bit tacky. On the whole the place seems a bit cluttered and disorganised. Not sure I could put up with it on a weekly basis if I was a parishioner. Helpful ladies looking after the stall.

Its Tamworth's main church and rather fine. Currently undergoing repairs but it is still open to go in and look around. There are guides to assist and coffee and various other things to buy.
