Its Tamworth's main church and rather fine. Currently undergoing repairs but it is still open to go in and look around. There are guides to assist and coffee and various other things to buy.

It is a very old church that stands tall for all to see from all over Tamworth. Also in side the stone work and windows are beautiful the carved ceiling above the knave is also colourful you look up at it and you could fall over if you walk whilst looking up.
I suggest you stand still and just admire the beauty.

I seem to visit Churches all around the world and realised I have never been inside the one in my home town so today made an effort to visit.
A large church in the town centre with tidy grounds that is well maintained. There appears to be some building works due to start looking at the equipment stored to one side inside the church.
the wooden roof is lovely as are the colourful stained glass windows. There was a brick a brac sale inside when I went and they were very welcoming.
As churches go not bad at all.

Beautiful stained glass windows. The bell tower has only one stable wall. The internal wall has no windows as they break when the bells are rung. The stairs are rare as they have a double helix spiral. Access by the public to the tower is limited to twice a year. Photo is plaque in memory of Pvt Samuel Parkes VC - Many thanks to local volunteer tour guide
