Booked this the day before at a great price of £65 for a small double, including breakfast.
We had a little trouble finding it, but got there eventually.
Its located right by Rudyard Lake and has ample parking.
Its very welcoming and when we arrived several people were outside sat drinking.
We had a lovely welcome by a young girl and checked in.
Our room was Room 6, which is a small double, good shower and two small opening windows which was nice as the room was really warm!
We had a wander to the lake which is literally two minutes away, it was quite busy with fishermen and families walking around. The steam train came through which was nice. As it turned dark, we headed back to the hotel.
We sat in the bar and the other half was happy with the ales they had and I ordered wine. The food looked amazing so we ordered a roast beef dinner and gammon with egg and pineapple with a side of cauliflower cheese.
A few minutes later, food was served and it was really good. Huge portions.
We sat for another chatting with locals and then went up to the room.
We had a great sleep and went down for breakfast at 9am (they serve until 11am on a Sunday). We both ordered a full English and they were amazing! There was several people coming in for breakfast that were...Booked this the day before at a great price of £65 for a small double, including breakfast.

The staff during Saturday evening and Sunday morning were all really friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
There was even a gentleman asking if they could have a sandwich made as he was going walking, again absolutely no problem and sandwiches came from the kitchen within minutes.
It was just a nice chilled stay over with good food, great service and we will definitely go back.
Total cost for both meals and 6 drinks was £54.
Parking is free and a good base for exploring the area. Leek is a 9 minute drive and we spent the day wandering around the Artisan Market, which is held on the first Sunday of every month. More
