We visited with friends on a Saturday evening. The place was very busy. We had a very warm welcome from the staff. The starters were really great, and not over sized, the duck salad looked and tasted the best, according to our friends. All four of us opted for the pork belly, well what can I say expect for exceptional. Cook to perfection. A lovely bit of crackling. The vegetables that accompanied the pork were delicious as well.
Desserts also as good. Although they had run out of my favourite, chocolate fondant.
I would highly recommend the Kingston Inn, but do book a Saturday evening, as it's very busy.

We had a pleasant esperience booking late on a Wednesday moning for lunch that day. I don't mind being asked 'Is everything OK for you?' but not as you walk in the door. The young waiter really needs to back off very slightly. He means well, but it does get a bit much by the end of the meal.
Other than that, the food was good with a selection of veggie options for my wife and, my personal favourite scallops as a main for me. They were beautifully cooked, but (and it is a little but) sear them both sides, not just one, and please don't put those beautiful objects with such a delicate flavour, on a bed of cheese infused, gloopy risotto rice. They were overpowered, which was such a shame.

After all that, yes I would go back again willingly, especially after the waiter has looked up the word 'obsequious'.

Yes I did fill in the customer survey form at the time, and handed it in before we left.

We were looking for a one night stay, not far from home, with a good meal as a treat, having secured babysitting services for the weekend. The Kingsdon Inn came recommended by a colleague and it certainly didn't disappoint. Our evening meal was delicious, with sensible quantities of beautifully prepared and presented, good quality ingredients and well judged flavours. The atmosphere in the bar/restaurant was cosy and comfortable. Cinzia and the waiting staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, really comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and really set us up for the day. We will most certainly be visiting again!

We arrived without a booking for lunch today - a Monday. We did not stay overnight. We were welcomed professionally and offered a choice of tables from those not already reserved. We went for the £10 deal for two courses, in our case Hake and a pork Schnitzel followed by Rice pudding and chocolate sponge. Service was excellent, the food was well prepared and very tasty, we were well looked after throughout the meal and we were very satisfied with our visit. We will be back.

It was very busy, we were glad we had booked. Staff were very friendly. Nice menu. Good sized portions, so good in fact I couldn't manage a third course. Roast beef cooked to perfection. Good choice of wines
