Having a few hours spare in the Bridgwater on a sunny Sunday morning, I googled things to do and happily Burrow Mump popped up.
Easy to find and much quieter than Glastonbury tor but with all the views and atmosphere it really was a lucky find!
Easy access to the car park and a very steep but short climb to the summit. We sat for a while and surveyed the landscape, looking out for all the landmarks. Unfortunately there is no marker point or map to use as reference but it really is a beautiful place to stop and reflect, will definitely visit again!

It is fairly steep to walk up to the top but well worth it for a 360 view. You can't enter the church ruins.

My family & I stayed in Somerset in November and we drove past this steep hill with a ruin on top so later in the week we decided to drive back there and check it out. This 'Barrow Mump' has interesting history and has amazing 360 views. Great exercise on the climb to the top and all the kids enjoyed it! We got to the top just as the sun was setting!
Worth a visit!

Not the best day to climb this ancient mound with the ruins of the church on the summit but despite the wind and rain we struggled up the short but steep hillside to get the panoramic view of the surrounding countryside across the Somerset Levels.
Local pub serves good food and real ales on your return.
There is adequate car parking at the foot of the hill and a short history of Mump at the foot.

What views beautiful place. Nice pub at the bottom on the levels. Not too hard a walk so all can enjoy
