Description: The Fox and Hounds is under new management; welcome to YOUR community pub. Kelly, Steve and family would like to welcome you to the new Fox & Hounds. Having lived in Ardley for nearly 4 years, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to take over the Fox and Hounds when the opportunity arose and turn our dream of a “village pub for the community” into a reality. After 2 weeks of extensive refurbishment, including 2 new kitchens, a fantastic new menu, real ales including Hook Norton “Hooky” and Timothy Taylors Landlord, we are now open. For those passing through, you can find us rather conveniently located at Junction 10 on the M40 and a alternative stop to the services. We offer free wifi and a cosy environment for a business meeting. We are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week and look forward to welcoming you to your new Fox and Hounds at Ardley. We came across this place on Sunday in heavy snow, when our attempts to meet up with our daughter and husband at the nearby motorway services had to be aborted. We became stuck in snow in the car park and were immediately helped by staff and customers. Our family also made it, and we were delighted to be able to order Sunday lunch. It was excellent, particularly the roast beef which we agreed was the most tender we had eaten in a long time! The roast turkey was delicious too and the roast potatoes were wonderful. All accompanied by tasty veg. Great value too! We intend to return with a planned visit!

Great location, easily found from M40, with plenty of parking. Staff generally friendly and efficient. Nice to see a real open fire.
However, we were disappointed with the food, 2 of us had badly cracked or chipped plates, and a dish of Tartare sauce was cracked right through. A dessert was only partially defrosted, and was literally swimming in custard.

My wife & I were on our way to Bournemouth & I was pleased the Hostelry was still there & open, We both had Fish & Chips & for drinks I had a pint of Real Ale & my wife had a small bottle of Prosecco, The Landlady & I assume her husband have been there for about 16 years now. A Lovely Pub, lovely food & good beer.

We visit here often. The service is excellent, friendly and attentive. Good choice of real ales. They change them frequently, so always a nice choice. The food is lovely. They do a range of pub classics as well as a few more unusual dishes. The Sunday lunch is great. Delicious, lots of choice, and superb value for money. It's always busy, passing trade and locals alike. Very highly recommended.

Met a friend for a chat & baguette lunch. Friendly service, cosy next to the fire on a damp autumn day. Basic pub grub menu - prepared individually with fresh products. If I was driving down / up the M40 and had a choice between service station plastic food and stopping here - I'd choose the latter!
