We stayed for two nights for a wedding in the local area. All the staff are extremely obliging and helpful. They couldn’t do enough for us and definitely went that extra mile. The room was clean, bed was fine. Great shower. Toiletries provided. We ate in the pub on the first night and it was very nice. Breakfast was great. Service was very good. Plenty of parking spaces. Nice little village. Would stay again if in the area.

Ideal location for visiting Sherwood Forrest arts and crafts centre and visitor centre. Went and saw Major Oak.
Old hotel which has been modernised, clean, good value and excellent breakfast.
Also returned for lunch which was good quality and value.

Brilliant menu, so much that took my fancy. Finally decided on chicken fajitas with a side of fries topped with blue cheese & bacon. Food was amazing, quick service. Will be going back again! Will definitely recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a family wedding, bar area was good, food is what you would expect for a franchise pub although fresh cooked would be better, no specials board.

Room was ok it was clean, shower cubicle was small could just about move. The age of the building and layout of room not much you can do. Whole place could do with a refurb it's looking old.

Breakfast was Excellant I would stay again.

Rooms very bare - no pictures, no curtains and bland. Wooden window blind that doesn't keep all the light out. Room 9 has table for tv and kettle/tea/coffee/biscuits. Wardrobe, bedside tables. Room 8 didn't have all this and tv is fixed to wall at side of bed! Shower rooms are awful - door in room 9 hard to open/close and in room 8 opens on to toilet. Tiny shelf only for wash bag. Flooring absolutely awful and doesn't look clean. Bed comfortable and linen and towels clean and white. Breakfast ok and nice staff. Our tv's didn't work on arrival but a young man on duty had them fixed for us with the help of the manager. Paid 50% deposit when booked on line which was overlooked on arrival and full price asked for payment until I pointed it out! Wouldn't stay here again.
