Service is comical- 3 waitresses asking for order. The food was average; the menu is too adventurous and offering Indian food that materialises with no understanding of spices is a big ‘no.’

I am disappointed to hear that you didn't enjoy your recent visit to The Apple Inn, however I am slightly confused by your review, I would like to discuss the service with yourself, as you can see for the numerous reviews, our service is always highly complimented. In regards to your comment of " Indian food that materialises with no understanding of spices is a big ‘no'" , our head chef would be happy to discuss this further and understand your comments a little more as what you have said is very vague.

I would hope you would take the time to drop us an email on j.johnson@stablewoodleisure.com so we can discuss your comments further.

We stayed here at the end of March 18 for my partners 30th. It was a surprise trip for him so I got in touch with the hotel the week prior to our arrival to see if there was any way I could have balloons delivered to the room before we arrived.
Johny and the rest of the team were so helpful... they were happy to accept these HUGE balloons 2 days before we arrived and put them in on time.
The hotel/restaurant is probably the most dog friendly place we’ve ever visited. We felt so at home and will not hesitate to return!

Such a lovely location too!

P.s they have a vast selection of Gluten Free Meals! Including toast in the morning!

We visited over a bank holiday weekend as a family. The staff were very pleasant and the food was lovely. We waited a long time for our food but when it came it was nice. Not sure I’d hurry back but all in all it was a positive experience. Thanks

The Apple Inn is a really nice inn with friendly, welcoming staff. We also had dinner here and the food was excellent - couldn't be faulted. My partner loved he real ale and the wine list was pretty good as well. Even if you don't stay overnight the food is excellent and well worth a visit. I had the venison and it was fantastic and then chocolate brioche bread and butter pudding - it was to die for.

We booked a table and ate here on a Monday night. Food was very good, service was slow but very friendly as they appeared to be busier than expected. On arrival at 6.30pm we immediately sat at our table, and we didn't finish our meal until after 9pm.

The food was all very tasty, especially the seafood platter to start. The children's meal were very good quality. My nieces (age 9 & 11) had fish goujons and chicken goujons and both were fresh and clearly homemade.

Desserts (especially the Choc Brownie) were large portions so may want to consider sharing. Prices reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.
