Owner description: The RNLI Grace Darling Museum tells the story of Grace and her father's heroic rescue of nine survivors of the wreck of the SS Forfarshire in September 1838. The museum is a small site, with a stunning view from the first floor. The main gallery includes the boat Grace and her father rowed to the rescue. RNLI Grace Darling Museum is a family-friendly site with trails, activities and temporary exhibitions during school holidays. We look forward to welcoming you.

Small but interesting.
Quite a lot of detail and lots of Grace Darling's artefacts (including the famous boat).
Interesting puzzle on the light house for children and adults to solve.
Upstairs is a large area for dressing up, a view over Grace's tomb and a photobooth you can use for free.
Well worth a visit even for just an hour or so.

Well worth 30-40 mins to hear the Grace Darling story. Recommended after visiting Bamburgh castle (easy walk).

What a great little museum. Lots to look at and a video of the Grace Darling story. Lots of 'hands on' type things - buttons for the kids to press to make things light up. They particularly enjoyed working out the combination to activate the lighthouse. Staff were lovely and helpful and the kids learned a lot.

We went with grandparents, parents, children (5 and 7). All of us found it very interesting and loved leaving about the inspirational story of Grace Darling. The draws that open and the lights that turn on are fun for kids. Upstairs there were some nice Easter cards we could make. This museum is free to enter but we left a donation towards the RNLI.
