Passed The Old Stables Tea Room as we went shopping, so called in for lunch. We both chose the homemade soup and sandwiches. The service was very friendly and helpful and the food was really fresh and well presented. Will definitely go back to try the freshly made quiche and cakes when we next pass by.

Booked afternoon tea for me and my mum as part of my mum's 50th treat, and wow it was amazing, the best afternoon I've ever had, it was that good I could not eat it all nor could my Mum, but we got to take the left overs home which was nice :) the staff are very friendly and organised, always asking if we wanted a top up of tea / coffee, definetly recommend this tea room :)

We visit this Tea Room regularly for tea & coffee but visited today for a Mother’s Day afternoon tea. It was simply fabulous....plenty to eat, beautifully prepared and served, tasted fantastic and bottomless pots of tea in a proper teapot. The Tea Room is small and cosy, very clean, the staff are very friendly and make us feel very welcome. Other Tea Rooms & Coffee Shops in the area could learn a lot from this little Tea Room - fabulous food & drinks at a very reasonable price and good old-fashioned customer service. It’s always a joy to visit.

We've just come back from another delightful lunch at the justifiably popular Old Stables. It was very busy yet the friendly staff were calm and welcoming - as usual!

The reason for the popularity of this charming venue is the quality and freshness of the home-made food - even down to the delicious organic bread, made on the premises. As the food is prepared fresh, it's not a fast-food venue but well worth any wait.

I had leek and gruyere quiche with salad, all fresh and I wish I could make quiche so soft and tasty. My partner enjoyed the excellent ploughman's which left no room for cake (tragedy!!). We prevented deprivation by bringing home a piece of the best-ever Lemon Drizzle cake which has a fresh tang balanced by sweetness in a yummily moist cake and also a piece of crispy Mars tray bake.

I'd recommend this tea room to anyone. It is popular with locals and tourists alike and particularly at weekends and holidays, it is advisable to book.
