Ate here 4 times in a week as the service and quality of food made it a no-brainer. Warm welcome from Kate each time and free carrot cake complete with candle on my husbands birthday, a lovely touch! Between us we sampled quiche, pea and mint soup with warm cheese scones, carrot cake and banana pancakes. Place orders at the counter. The coffee (Pilgrim) is particularly nice and is from Holy Island. A light bite each (quiche / soup) with a drink cost around £14. Nicely decorated with local art and photography for sale. Outside seating (lovely suntrap). Well-behaved dogs welcome. Free wifi. Located just off the A1 (signposted Rock I think). Kate - thanks for recommending Sycamore Gap, it was wonderful! Best of luck and hope to see you again when we return to Northumberland!

What a pleasant find, in the heart of the stunning Northumberland coastal region, this fairly newly opened art cafe is a credit to its owner . The surroundings are such a surprise to find in an otherwise commercial free village . The menu is limited but the bacon butty and quite lovely toast , with coffee made to perfection which we had. is worth any detour when travelling to Craster or Bamburgh. Congratulations, were all remote, or not so remote, coffee stops so good .

I've waited weeks to try lunch at this lovely cafe. I've stopped by for the great coffee many times while on bike rides.
Decided to meet a friend for a bike ride & made sure we started and finished here, so we could do lunch!
Not disappointed! Great toasties, made with proper bread & delicious fillings - pastrami & horseradish, goats cheese & chorizo. Then the carrot cake! Delicious.
Such a great place filled with curio & art. All served up by the delightful Kate.

Came across this lovely café not too far off the A1 en route to the wonderful Northumbrian coast. It's the kind of place that has real personality, not just a bland "anywhere coffee shop". Coffee and quiche were excellent, will most definitely return. It's a lovely little road trip from Newcastle.

Heading to the coast we stumbled across this delightful cafe and gallery. The excellent coffee was local [Pilgrims from Holy Island] and the scones delicious.
This is obviously a very popular place because when we arrived there was only one table available.
The owner obviously has flair - the vintage and the new sit comfortably together and everything is for sale. It's a very relaxing environment.
