We travelled 56 miles each way from our home to visit Betty's,there are nearer ones but heard such great revues about this one,we just had to try it,we not disappointed.
Arriving at 1pm we expected to have to wait for a table, the wait was about 10 minutes,so that's quick in my book for a busy lunchtime.
Whilst we waited a lovely lady brought us the menu to browse,so much to choose from, you wouldn't go here if you wanted a cheap & cheerful place,it was £19.95 each for afternoon tea but the quality was outstanding,we had 4 lots of sandwiches, smoked salmon, chicken breast, egg mayonnaise & the most delicious ham,a fruit scone each with jam & cream, then a lemon macaroon each, also fruit tart each, finally a coffee fudge cake with the best tasting chocolate on top.We had a pot of leaf tea each ,served in silver tea pots, none of your tea bags here.
We had a lovely young waitress really polite & helpful, all the staff were nicely dressed ,the tea rooms were immaculate, tables cleared promptly between customers.
I can highly recommend & would certainly go again if in the area.
