“Lovely way to spend an hour”

This is a really lovely little zoo, with a small selection of animals.
It's currently undergoing renovations, which I'm sure will greatly improve the zoo.
We spent an hour here, with children aged 7 & 11, They got to hold and touch some of the animals, which they both really enjoyed.

This zoo made me want to shed tears for the poor animals and birds. They were clearly distressed or despondent animals. Birds trapped in tiny cages unable to fly. Many without company. Lost feathers. Looking like they have lost their will to live or gone crazy.
Crocodiles in a tiny space without enough water to bathe. A solo pig eating stones and living alone. The meerkats had the best area to live but the rest of the birds and animals were trapped. What an horrific life for them. It was a sad day for me.

Where to start. Overpriced. Cash only. Smelly. Dirty. Tiny. Animals who looked fed up and bored with no stimulation, over fed and fat and half their fur or feathers missing in cramped, dirty cages. I would not return and I would definitely not recommend.

Great place to take young children, well cared for animals, great experience especially meeting the giant tortoise
It’s a cash only venue & you have to pay for parking- despite this it’s worth a visit, improvements being made

A great place for families with young children. We were capitivated by the cheeky monkeys and cute meerkats and loved the giant tortoise and iguana that you could pet! It’s a shame it’s not a bigger place but it’s great to visit to while away an hour.
