Ranked #6 of 214 Restaurants in Margate
Price range: €1 - €23
Description: The Cafe is steeped in the Margate history and has been serving Margate just after the war, it's under its current ownership since 2000. It's Margate's hidden gem with the seats formed from the margate trams and the original (retro) formica table tops. We use only the best ingredients sourcing locally wherever we can. We are famous for our breakfasts partly because we use quality sausages, bacon, heinz beans ,fresh bread from local bakery smothered in anchor butter not to mention use brand name sauces like heinz ketchup, hp sauce and colemans mustard. People often like to add our homemade bubble! We offer take away with freshly baked baguettes & fresh rolls and bread delivered daily from local bakery. We also do home cooked meals using only the highest grade meat and veg from local butchers and farm shop. Our lasagne would beat or rival most italian restaurants and our roasts with a homemade yorkshire are simply delicious! On Thus - Sat we serve gourmet burgers from 17: 00

I eat here three or four times a week! It's the bees-knees of breakfast joints in Kent. Service is super fast and very friendly. Great cuppa tea! Great location for groups or just going in by yourself. Has free WiFi too!

Friendly place. There are gluten free options for a fry up, and highchairs if you've got a little one with you.

I’ve visited this cafe a few times, I must say the breakfasts are amazing so I thought I’d try a roast dinner, I was very disappointed, it was horrible and most of it was frozen, no taste at all and very cheap cuts of meat

Hi really sorry to read this :-( glad you love our breakfasts and saddened the roast did not meet your high expectations. I can assure you our meat is of the highest quality and at just over £6 many people often comment on what a good cafe roast it is, it might not be of carvery standard but its not a carvery roast. It does come with a big home made yorkshire & our veg is fresh from the local farm (including our potatoes for roast) with the exception of frozen peas,

We were heading to Margate for the day and wanted to stop for breakfast before going to Dreamland. Plan was to get fish n chips later on.

We found The Dalby Cafe here on Tripadvisor and we are so glad we did. Full English for me and my eldest, veggie breakfast for my wife and our youngest had the sausage baguette. All of it was absolutely lovely. Nice and hot and really good quality and value.

We ate so much that the fish n chips will have to wait until next time.

Can't recommend thIs place enough. Friendly staff, great food and a real slice of English seaside history. We will definitely be back. Brilliant!

The Dalby Cafe breakfasts are outstanding every time when visiting. Also takeaways are available if you don’t have time to sit in. Very friendly staff and I highly recommend this place.
