We have used David’s town house many times now when visiting Cowes. The reasons are many! It’s a great central position but well away from the high street noise, the house is very large and the amenities superb! Add that to David’s keen local knowledge with restaurants and network of friends it makes for a great place to stay!
The house is really stunning, great location close to everything you need (M&S, shops, coast, etc). A nice set-up with spacious bedrooms and communal areas, the garden is also really great with outside eating area and spa jacuzzi -although we didn't get the chance to enjoy due to unlucky weather :( -
The rooms are all nicely decorated and are comfortable, cozy, and clean.
David helped us out with everything we needed and gave us loads of recommendations for our stay in Cowes.
Fantastically easy option for big groups, Thank you! We had a great stay!
Fantastic location, just a few minutes from the high street with all the shops, bars, restaurants and red jet. Host is incredibly friendly. Very easy to rent. Would recommend and stay again.
Absolutely loved staying at Mornington House, the rooms were immaculate with very comfy beds and the garden is a total sun trap and is beautifully landscaped. It is also incredibly close to all the bars and restaurants in Cowes. Couldn’t have asked for more, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay on the Isle of Wight.
I recently spent a long weekend at ‘Mornington House’ which is within walking distance of the ferry, the Red Jet, the shops and marina in Cowes. It’s so easy from London - just hop on the train at Waterloo - and you’re in Cowes in just over 2-hours.
Full disclosure - David Linton (the owner of Mornington House) is a friend - but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mornington House to any large group - whether sailing or not. Each bedroom has its own bathroom - and there’s a wonderful large dining room and kitchen - opening onto a conservatory (where’s there’s also a table - for eating in the Summer) - which in turn opens out onto a landscaped garden - with an orchard and a hot-tube at the bottom!
The Isle of Wight has something for everyone - wonderful beaches - great locally produced food (you have to try the crab pasties) - history (Osborne House and the Dimbola Museum) ... and ... of course ... sailing.
Mornington House is a great base from which to explore the island.
