Disappointing stay the the Talbot Hotel. No facilities were provided for people with disabilities, having booked on the strength of misleading information on the hotels website we were frustrated to arrive and be told that the only ground floor room available was an annex on the far side of the car park this was furthered by a nonchalant attitude from reception when trying to remedy the situation. We were expecting a quaint hotel in Leominster however don’t be misled this hotel is a glorified travelodge with poor service. The only positive and exception to this was the Breakfast which both food and service were of a high standard.

Booked this hotel restaurant to celebrate my uncles 95th Birthday. On arrival we were shown to an empty restaurant, and told despite me having asked when booking that they were only serving bar meals today!, this was followed by returning staff to tell us they where now only offering soup and sandwiches, as the chief had been sacked last night! and they could phone in a chief who may or may not be available and could maybe cook from the bar menu. This was supposed to have been a special occasion for my uncle. We travelled 50 miles to get there, and was directed by staff to another restaurant which turned out to be a cafe!!!
Awful day, and when I asked for the manager was told no one was on duty, manager off and assistant had just gone home.
We have used the Talbot previously, but will NEVER return again. Cannot tell how what an awful day this turned out to be as my uncle had just had very bad news regarding his health earlier in the week.

Hello Janet,

We would like to apologize for your negative experience at the Talbot Hotel. I hope that through our recent conversation we can look forward to you and your family returning and enjoying our Christmas lunch menu as discussed. We have made changes to the management structure to ensure that there will be a duty manager at the hotel at all times.

We stayed for 6 nights. We had a nice room clean and bright, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits replaced everyday. Breakfast really good cereal, fruit, cakes, fruit juice, tea,
coffee, toast, followed by hearty cooked breakfast. Evening meal was very good if anything too much food, Staff always pleasant and helpful and made time to chat, we were a party of 27 bowlers we had a great time.

This quirky hotel in the heart of Leominster is ideally situated for exploring not only the town but also the surrounding black and white countryside. Our room and double bed was very comfortable on the second floor with en suite facilities and the breakfast served set you up for the day and was very generous. Parts of the hotel are very old with low wooden beams and a reputation of being haunted though we were unaware of any supernatural activity.

Thank you very much for your review. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are very proud of our hotel and its history. Parts of our hotel date back to the 15th century. The hotel does have a history of spookiness but our ghostly companions are friendly just like the staff! We are lucky to have such a fantastic location which is the gateway to many fantastic places. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay.

In the middle of Leominster this hotel has reasonably priced menu including usual pub grub. Food is fine and there are 2 draught beers on tap. Waitress friendly. Feels a bit dated but fine for lunch, although not memorable.
