The meat was OK, but the vegetables were raw, and had to saw through the roast parsnip. We naturally complained, and were told by the well-intentioned but ignorant waitress that she had spoken to chef, and these were cooked "Alley-Denty". I ruefully reflected that it was probably our teeth that were likely to be "denty". However, no reduction on the cost of the main course, (£14.95 per adult, £4.95 per child), so when presented with a £170.00 bill, we naturally declined the option for a Gratuity.
One mitigating fact; the Sticky Toffee Pudding & Custard for dessert was sublime. However, the Old Beams will need to learn how to STEAM vegetables to an acceptable level of softness in future, otherwise we will revert to our usual format as Mature Diners of Starter & Dessert!
All of which adds up to a disappointing visit to what is a very nice pub, with a lovely cosy ambience. Shame about the staff and the veg.....
