When we checked out the receptionist asked if they could have done anything more to make our stay better. I thought about it for a second and then said "No".
It was a perfectly magical experience and nothing negative to report.

This Hotel and Spa is probably one of the best in the UK, set in the New Forest and surrounded by beautiful countryside. It's also only a short walk to the beach at Highcliffe-on-Sea. We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary with a stay in one of their luxurious Treehouse Studio Suites, which was absolutely amazing. The Treehouse included Forest views from a tree canopy and is suspended 35 feet above ground. We also had the luxury of an outdoor hot tub on the terrace deck which made for a very relaxing afternoon sipping champagne. The room has all state of the art technology including Flat-screen TV in the sitting room and bedroom with Sky, DVD player and an audio system with Bluetooth connectivity which allowed us to play our music from our iPhones whilst in the hot tub. The suite also has a lovely bathroom with a huge bathtub overlooking the forest and walk-in shower. This is the perfect venue for a special occasion and highly recommended if you're looking for a five star hotel and spa in one of the most beautiful places in the UK.

We stayed here last week for one night in a Junior Suite. Chewton Glen is an enchanting property, and you can't help but admire its facade when you pull up to the hotel's entrance and see all the gorgeous flowers in bloom. We were greeted with a friendly smile by Raymond, made to feel extremely welcome, car valet parked and checked in swiftly and professionally.

Raymond then gave us a quick tour of the property, which has loads of different seating areas/alcoves where you can unwind without being on top of all the other guests, and then we settled in to a few Peronis outside on the terrace by the Croquet Lawn. On a blazing summer's day as it was, sitting outside in such beautiful surroundings with a few beers is my idea of heaven. Instantly we felt relaxed, which is always a good sign of things to come.

Luckily our room was ready early, so we had a quick check before lunch. Recently renovated, luxuriously furnished with a dead comfy bed and quality linen. Yep...that'll do us!!

Before lunch Adam Dyke, the operations manager at Chewton, kindly introduced himself to us and, if you're reading Adam, you really made our stay at Chewton special. This man treated us like royalty from beginning to end (as did all the team) and couldn't have been a better host. He did everything to make sure we had a top notch experience. What a nice bloke!

What with it being such a glorious day, we sat outside on the terrace for lunch. We had a delicious 3 course meal from the a la carte menu with a nice bottle of English fizz to wash it down with. The 'Chewton Glen Lemon Tart' is right up there with the best that I've eaten...thin, light pastry and a silky smooth custard filling. Sublime. The wine list is cracking, with a fine selection of local bins to choose from too (we chose the 2014 Bluebell Blancs de Blancs). As with many 5* hotels these days, some of the markups on the wines & beverages are considerable, moreso than many Michelin* 'restaurants with rooms'. Be prepared to pay top dollar!

After lunch we took a stroll down to the beach through the wood at the edge of the hotel grounds which helped to sober us up a bit. :/ (Tip - walk back along the main roads if you're feeling a bit knackered as it's all level)

After a great night's kip, we had breakfast in the room which, again, was excellent. Nearly every hotel we stay in, Relais & Chateaux properties included - no matter where in the world, will always forget something when having the breakfast delivered to the room. The only thing missing was the toast but that was rectified within 5 minutes. Top marks for that!! The breakfast menu here is expansive, the portions generous and the cooking exemplary. Spot on!

Check out with Alison was a breeze and Adam kindly saw to us personally to make sure that everything during our stay had been satisfactory.

Would we return? A massive fat YES!...only next time would hopefully be for more than one night and we're eager to try out The Kitchen too.

Thanks to everyone for a fabulous stay!

We had stayed previously at Chewton Glen in one of the Treehouses and this year chose a hotel suite with hot tub. It was a lovely room but what really stood out was the excellent service we received throughout our stay. From check-in, through room service, to the spa, every single interaction was superbly handled. The food in the DIning Room, the Kitchen and served in our suite, was lovely. It really could not have been a better stay. We will certainly return next year, but for a longer stay.
