Pods were warm and clean, ideal all close to each other in a secluded area. They have a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The beds are very comfortable, the bedding is a good quality
They provide fluffy towels and lovely toiletries.
The toilets and showers are very close by, 4 toilets and 3 showers. We'll heated, spotless and just perfect.
The hotel facilities were lovely. Very beautiful grounds.
The spa was very well equipped and clean
The 90's tribute band were very good
Food was lovely.
Every member of staff I had dealings with were lovely. Would love to return.
Thank you for a great stay!

What a fantastic overnight stay! We booked this stay through Groupon and we were not disappointed. When we arrived, we were efficiently checked in and pointed in the direction of our accommodation.
We stayed in one of their spacious 2 bedroom apartment with gorgeous views over the golf course. Apartments were stylist, modern and clean and the beds were so comfy. Each of the bedrooms had its own en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Kitchen was well equipped and the complimentary Prosecco
went down well. The apartment was well sound proofed as we didn’t here any of our neighbours unless the were in the communal hallway and at night it was so quiet.
The health club and spa was busy, but that was to be expected at the weekend. We tried out all they had to offer including, pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi heated loungers and the foot spas. There was much more here than most 4 star hotels that I have visited in the UK.
We had breakfast included with our stay but we were not expecting much after reading some of the reviews on here so it was a pleasant surprise to see the quality of the food being offered and also it constantly being topped up. Although the restaurant was busy, we didn’t have to queue for our food and our waiter was attentive and polite. Our only small grumble would be that instead of orange juice what they offered was similar to orange squash, but that was ok as I had grapefruit juice instead. I believe they also offered Apple juice and Cranberry juice.

The Hotel was obviously busy as the car park seemed full, but it didn’t seem busy or overrun with people, maybe it was because we were staying in the apartment. Loved the eclectic decor of the hotel, and the thrones dotted around the place.

All in all, we were very impressed and will look to come back for another stay, one night was not long enough!

By the way, there are some lovely scenic walks so close to the hotel.

We had the most wonderful time here this week, we attended the hotel on Friday for an overnight stay & the 90's tribute event! An absolutely amazing time had by all. The hotel was beautiful and made even more special by the fact that my partner had arranged with the hotel event organiser Diane to propose to me at the hotel. She suggested what could be arranged and kindly set it all up. Candles, rose petals and even a cushion for him to kneel on. It was beautiful, a photographer was slso arranged to take photos too which were emailed to us at no cost. Everyone was so lovely, from the staff at the spa to Starbucks who gave us a free coffee to say congratulations. We cannot thank you enough. We hope to see you again for future visits to revisit fond memories. I would definitely recommend this beautiful hotel, with its wonderful food, staff, views.

On another note the chefs were fabulous at catering for us too as we are dairy intolerant and Gluten intolerant.

Diane works very hard to please everyone and is a credit to the hotel. Many thanks for everything Old Thorns xx

We’ve just returned from a relaxing one night stay here. Having been before for a girly spa day, I thought I’d bring my boyfriend for a night.
We arrived slightly before check in had opened and went for a drink in the sports bar which had a great atmosphere.
We decided to go to the swimming/spa area at 4pm which was a mistake as it was very busy, avoid this time on a Saturday. We returned the next day at 8am so we could use the facilities freely.
We decided to dine at the hotel that being and enjoyed a couple of drinks at the cocktail bar before dinner at the kings carvery which was delicious.
Unfortunately the only negative review is we weren’t overly impressed with the room, it really needed a good polish/wipe down the of sides and hoover. As everything else was really good I hope this was an oversight.

Love Old Thorns as a hotel but recently visited for Spa Day and also booked afternoon tea in the Kings Brasserie.
The swimming pool was lovely but the spa/jacuzzi was quite disappointing. Water wasn’t that warm and didn’t feel relaxing at all.
Booked couple of treatments and therapist was lovely, made me feel at ease but the facilities aren’t as top notch as they should be for a venue that prides itself in quality. When in the treatment room, trying to relax all you can hear is the squeaking floorboards outside, which are quite bad. Relaxing music on loop needs sorting out as it abruptly ends which is distracting from relaxation. Need a toilet on same floor as spa also!
Afternoon Tea in Kings Brassiere was a bigger disappointment. Some of the sandwiches were soggy and some were dry. The scones were tiny and rock hard on the outside. Large selection of bite size cakes but they had no flavour and were soggy. Quite disappointed overall.
