Cooker needed cleaning as was filthy and filled the property with fumes. Crockery and cutlery was dirty, drawers needed cleaning not just a paper towel to line it. Freezer half full with open bags of ice cubes. Cupboards full of previous guests food, oils, spices and condiments. No space to store our items. 2nd bedroom door unable to be opened properly due to rubbing on carpet. En-suite shower controls stiff beyond belief. Wash basin taps stiff to use. Extractor fans in both bathrooms not working and full of dirt which the owner knew about before our visit. Lighbulb in main bathroom needed to replaced plus battery for clock. When we emailed the owner after our return (rather than putting in guest book) he was extremely rude that we had waited 2 days after returning home to notify him (he does not know our circumstances at home but reported these matters to him as soon as we could). Certainly would not recommend this property to anyone.
We have stayed in much better properties, genuine 5 star, up & down the country, be they houses, lodges or caravans & at a cheaper rate.

We’ve just spent the weekend at The Sandlings, celebrating my don’s birthday.
It’s the perfect retreat for dog walking and sightseeing trips to Southwold and Alderburgh.
The sea views are simply stunning. A wonderful start to our first day.
The Sandlings is well equipped, we were able to entertain family with a birthday lunch.
A touch of luxury by the sea side. I’m already looking to book up for next year.
Nigel the owner has been great, he’s responded to emails straight away and has been very helpful.

Fantastic time at this beautiful lodge! Husband and I and my father and of course our two dogs! The lodge is gorgeous, the open plan living area was very beautiful and practical! Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, ideal.

Fantastic short break. Campsite is nice and quiet, the lodge is lovely and had everything we needed.
Dog walking in the local area very enjoyable.

Self employed husband, waitress wife, kids school runs work stress, all we took with us was our lovely dogs and had a well deserved rest. Beautiful walks on the beach nice meals nearby. Stunning view of sunset oh and a few drinks to top it off. Heaven xx
