Reviewed 8 October 2017

We spent two nights at Nawang's Den during the last week of September 2017. The home-stay is being run by Col Kapila and his wife. We had visited Dalhousie with another friend and his family. My wife and I stayed in the road level bedroom, while my friend had a larger three-bed room (third bed folding type) on the same floor. Col Kapila and his family stays at the lowest floor, and two floors above that have about six-seven rooms which are let out. The location of the house is convenient and it is not far from Gandhi Chowk, the popular hub of Dalhousie. Fresh, home made breakfast is served, with choice of parathas or sandwiches, eggs etc. The food served is clean and delicious. However, for lunch/dinner, either one has to bring packed food from outside, or it can be ordered through a helper present there, who fetches it from nearby eateries for a small tip.
We were able to park our car near the home-stay with Col Kapila's assistance.
The rooms are clean, ventilated, well decorated and tastefully furnished. An electric kettle and ingredients are provided in the room for tea/coffee. The attached toilet is clean, with 24-hour hot & cold water supply. A small common balcony runs across all rooms on this floor. The property is surrounded by tall trees on almost all sides and so has limited views of the surrounding ranges.
There is no common dining space where guests can have their food on a proper dining table, though crockery and cutlery is available. Therefore, one has to have food in one's own room, which is not convenient. It is suggested to the owners to make available a suitable dining space, if not on each floor, at least common for two floors of guest rooms.
We had a lively interaction with Col Kapila & his wife, and he guided us well about local sights.

Room Tip: Corner room on the middle floor is larger.
