everything from the atmosphere to the food was great. We got there at 6:40pm for a 7pm reservation on a Friday. We took the last 2 seats at the bar, had a drink, and our reservation was called right at 7pm. Our server was one of the best we've had ANYWHERE. He recommended our appetizer and helped me decide on an entree. Highly recommend this place. Top notch!

My wife and I went to J. Gilbert's for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Our waiter, John was very good and helped make our evening special. We both had the Prix-Fix meal with Salad, Kansas City Strip, Yukon Mashed Potatoes, Cream Corn or Asparagus. For dessert, we had the Chocolate cake and Carrot Cake.

Everything was delicious and we had a great evening. Highly recommended.

Not sure why thus restaurant came so highly rated. It was noisy and the service painfully slow. Our waiter was certainly lacking. We all had the filet which was good but bland. Between the 5 of us we had 7 different sides and no one liked any of them. I was super excited to try the Bourbon Shrimp but it was coyingly sweet and everyone left them. This is not a cheap restaurant. I will go to a Cameron Mitchell restaurant next time I'm in Columbus. Since it was a birthday party we ordered dessert and again they were mediocre at best. We all left it behind

J. Gilbert's was exactly the right place for a recent dinner with my work colleagues. The atmosphere put us at our ease and appetizers were delicious - especially the calamari. Everyone enjoyed the dinner - particularly the scallops special. My choice- the grilled vegetable platter - was a gorgeous mix of peppers, succotash, and grilled mushrooms. Service was top-notch and the location is convenient too. Highly recommended!

We went here for our anniversary. Atmosphere is low lighted, subdued and romantic. Not at all noisy. Very good service. We had filet mignon that was so tender it was like cutting butter, and very tasty. We had 4 different sides and shared. The brisket burnt ends Mac and cheese and creamed corn with burgers bacon were unusual and amazing. Green beans and asparagus were delicious. We were too full to try dessert. Many delicious looking choices. Excellent
Not recommended for children.
