German Village is just a few blocks south of downtown Columbus. The brick buildings, German architecture, and beautiful parks and gardens are accentuated by wonderful shopping and dining opportunities. Places to eat include Lindey's, Schmidt's, Thurman Cafe, and Harvest Pizzeria just to mention a few of my favorites. Places to shop include The Book Loft, Helen Winnemore's, Keny Galleries, and Franklin Art Glass. The Book Loft is a must! Kids of all ages can spend literally an hour or more looking through the dozens of rooms filled with books. I've taken my kids there with children who hate to read, and my children's friends can't wait to have their parents take them there again and again.
