Description: The Flying Fig has long been at the forefront of the farm-to-table movement. After nearly two decades, it remains our goal to support small family farms and local food artisans while creating critically acclaimed menus that evolve frequently to reflect seasonal availability. Our bar features a large, diverse wine list and craft cocktails prepared with local, fresh, and seasonal ingredients. Our atmosphere reflects our diverse neighborhood and is casual and friendly. Founded by owner and executive chef, Karen Small, next door to the restaurant is a small boulangerie-inspired pantry called Market at the Fig. The Market offers artisan sandwiches, fresh breads, and local products like pasta sauces and wines. Together, the two storefronts create a contemporary Parisian-inspired corner on a cobble-stoned street in Cleveland.

Stopped in for lunch while walking around downtown. I enjoyed the soup of the day being a sweet potato curry on a cold rainy afternoon. A vegetarian in our party had a grilled eggplant sandwich she enjoyed and a special of the day was a muffalatta sandwich which another friend ordered and liked. Prices very reasonable and service pleasant.

Peaches, heirloom tomatoes, stracchiatella cheese, arugula and balsamic glaze - a combo made in heaven. Ditto for bacon-wrapped, chorizo-stuffed medjool dates. Every dish was delicious, the service was excellent.

We stopped here for dinner and it was delicious. It's cozy and charming and perfect weather to sit outside. Our food was yummy. Everyone loved what they ordered and the focaccia was divine. Would love to visit again on my next trip to Cleveland.

Tasty food, very warm atmosphere, cool farm to table foods. We are not drinkers, but the wine selections looked really good and separate desert wines too. Pictured is the salmon and tofu bowl dishes.

We were going to see the Asian Lantern Festival at the Cleveland Zoo and decided to try this restaurant. We wanted something casual and fairly close to the Zoo and this seemed to be a good choice since it is right across from the Westside Market.

It was a very pleasant night, so we were happy to see there was outside seating. When we were asked by the hostess where we wanted to sit we asked her if the Happy Hour menu was available outside. She said yes, but seemed to be perturbed that we asked, so not thrilled with her attitude, but it was ok. We had a nice table for two and were able to people watch during our dining. Lots going on with GL Brewery right across the street.

We were given water quickly, but it took our server about 10 minutes to come to our table. Fortunately we had already read the menu and were able to place our order immediately. We ordered wine and beer to sip while we waited for our meals which were burgers and fries. When they arrived they were very good with bacon and cheese and the fries were very, very good! Our server came to check on our once and then to see if we wanted dessert which we did order. We split a nectarine and sour cheery cobbler with ice cream on the side and it was quite good.

Overall it was a nice evening with good food. The service could have been more attentive, but it was fine.
