Loved this hotel, we normally stay in Walnut Creek which is very busy and expensive. This hotel is older and could stand some room updates but it was very clean and confortable. Very quiet and I loved having the horses roaming the grounds. The breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel, excellent! We will definitely stay here next year.

Room Tip: Second floor is adults only, no children allowed.

We booked a one night stay at the Guggisberg Swiss Inn for October. We had checked other places in the towns around, but all were full. I believe Oct. is a very busy month for the Amish Country. I don't want to say it was bad, but for the price of $180.00 total it was not worth it. The rooms were clean but outdated. Towels need to be replaced as some turned dark and dirty looking when wet.. Our toilet needed cleaned as it had build up in the bowl. I am guessing maybe from hard water not sure or the room had not been used for awhile I changed washcloths at the desk and the man said it was from the dryer. It had rained all day up until 6pm so the horses were not out. The next day was better weather so in the morning we walked around the grounds after a breakfast of a potato casserole and egg/ham blossoms. The breakfast was better than a lot of continental style, so no complaint there. We saw a black pet rabbit and some ducks in the pond and the neighbor's 3 dogs. I am guessing we just didn't stay at the right time. The rain kept the horse's in. The channel selection was few, and when everything shuts down at 6pm what is left to do. I can't say it was bad, just not worth what we paid. Maybe it is less expensive in other months. I put a price rating of about $99.00 per night max. Sorry. Also they did have wine tasting for guest, but we did not participate.

Room Tip: Keep in mind that I believe that in October all places raise their prices.

This was the first time staying at Guggisberg after several trips to Amish country. You absolutely cannot beat the view that this Inn provides. Gorgeous rolling hills and farms as far as the eye can see. I loved seeing the animals roaming the grounds.
The lobby is spectacular. As is the dining area. We really enjoyed the live music on Friday night.

Overall the facilities are nice, dated, but nice. The beds are awful, at least mine was. The mattresses could use some updating for sure. So could the pillows. Yikes!

Breakfast was nice, although it was the same thing both mornings and the second mornings helpings didn't look as fresh. I think if some fruit (not just apples in a baggie) were offered it would of been a little nicer. The biscuits an gravy led to be desired :(

Again, overall the stay was very nice. Update the beds, improve the breakfast and you have yourself a very special place at Guggisberg.

Room Tip: Definitely stay on the second floor if you can!

Very relaxing. Horses roaming the beautiful grounds. Lots of ducks swimming in the pond. Good breakfast. Great wine. We have been there several times. And are planning on going back in October. This is the only place we will stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a good view.

If you want to enjoy and to learn about Amish, this is the hotel you should stay. It is right in the heart of Amish country. It is on a top of hill with wide open view of beautiful Amish land. The hotel only has a two-story building. Every room has nice view of the country. It is quiet. You won’t be bothered by the commercial activities and buildings. What you will see are horses, cows, ducks, rabbits, farm lands and grass lands, trees and mountains. It is just beautiful place.
The hotel lobby and rooms are decorated gorgeously. Rooms are clean. The hosts are very friendly. Beside the evening snacks, they have free breakfast. Also, we enjoyed the breakfast with beautiful view in the dining room.
The hotel will arrange Amish dinner in Amish families on Saturdays if you give them enough time. We missed it because I told them too late.
