I found this to be probably the most relaxing holiday I have experienced. The accommodation was first class - modern clean tasteful design with all conveniences included. There was also an outside shower useful for washing off seawater and sand on returning from the beach just 50 or so metres away. Outside furniture is provided, including a table to seat six, to relax in the shade, or sunbathe as the fancy takes you. The accommodation is accessed by car from the coast road through a locked gate controlled by a remote device. The seaward side is not secure but there is always someone in attendance (24 hours)+ at the boat hire place just outside. The beach will start to fill with people from around 7.30 in the morning and begins to clear about 12 hours later - so don't expect the place to yourself. This is Italy after all where no-one is more than 2 hours from the coast. Nearest shops (Alimentari) are about 5-6 minutes away by car in the lovely little port town of Savelletri. Monopoli to the north is the nearest big town/city only 15 to 20 minutes away. It has a beautiful old town clustered around the port and is well worth a visit. Polignano A Mare, Ostuni, Alberobello, Castellana Grotte are also in easy reach and worth visiting. Good restaurants are to be found in Savelletri and there is also one within walking distance through the olive groves toward the nearby hills.

One aspect that made this holiday so enjoyable was the care and kindness shown to us by our host Luciana and her family. She and her husband could not have been more attentive or helpful. They live in the apartment above the three rental properties below and so are always on hand if needed. That said, everyone has their own separate entrance and the design and layout of the property contribute to a sense privacy and self-containment. Luciana helped make our holiday what it was and we have vowed to return. I could not recommend this rental highly enough.
