In a Railway carriage in the centre of town, this holds all the information of the town and surrounds. Worth a look.

You are transported back into the history of 1800 "Steam Train" adventure.
It is very interesting, as for its simplicity.
You sit in a "First Class" cabin seat, then look out your window to see Australian Railway History as it passes you bye.
Throughly enjoyable.

Only had a short time to visit and impressed with what we saw and read. Only wish that we had had a lot more time.

This train carriage tells a story of the town . And what a great town it is. The main street was getting an upgrade , which is now finished in late November. There is a lot of history in the main street ,especially in the newsagency.

We were so lucky to have visited Peterborough after this carriage museum was opened.
There were "billboards" down either side of part of the carriage, each with a picture accompanied by a story relating to the history of this formally very busy railway town.
There was plenty of information, but not so much that it become tiring.
There was a superb virtual steam train ride to Broken Hill, which played continuously in two old style rail carriage rooms.
Do not miss this gem
