Amande is a nice quiet place in the country. With just two cottage-like rooms, the atmosphere is calm. Our room was large with a kitchen area, a small couch and a comfortable shaded patio. It was a little too cold to swim, but the pool looked very inviting. The owners were friendly and helpful. It's also not far to the town of McLaren Vale which has a large grocery store as well as restaurants and a nice wine store.

Unable to stay in the city we opted for this beautiful bed and breakfast in McClarren Vale. Situated in the heart of the Wine Region, the accommodation is just two self-contained units in the beautiful private gardens of our wonderful hosts Donna and Mike’s house. Ours was Lavender. Every amenity is catered for in the accommodation. Comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, decent shower and even a BBQ on your own terrace to cook your dinner or breakfast. All the breakfast food is provided, along with freshly baked bread, fresh eggs from the hens on site with the rest being locally sourced and was a feast to behold. The good: the location, the quality of accommodation, the freedom of the breakfast arrangements and the friendliness of the hosts. The bad: nothing. The indifferent: the wifi if you need to connect is sporadic - but it’s the country! Top Tips: A car is a must as there is no local transport and nothing (except the winery across the road) is in walking distance. Doc Adams Cellar Door is across the road and is a great couple of hours out for wine tasting. The village is a 5 minute drive, beach 15 mins and local wineries everywhere. Don’t drive to Adelaide; drive to Seaford (10 mins) and catch the Adelaide metro. Simple, comfortable and convenient. Lastly, make use of sitting on your patio!

Delightful cottage in very peaceful but convenient location in Mclaren Vale. Everything done with great care attention but minimal intrusion. Only negative is that the WiFi does not really work inside the cottage. Outside on verandah is fine but in winter not very practical.

Excellent base for a mini cycling/wine tasting tour. Lovely friendly welcome from our host. A dip in the generous size swimming pool was very welcome after a hot day on the bikes. Highly recommend, hopeful to visit again.

This place has a lovely set of well-equipped cottages that are comfortable and set in a lovely area. Breakfast is cook yourself, which we loved because you can make whatever you like, whenever you like, and the array of fresh, locally sourced breakfast ingredients was truly delicious. Our cottage had a patio, so we were able to sit out in the lovely garden and have our breakfast.

The place has internet and information about a local driver with whom you can make pick-up, drop-off plans, which you will need because Uber isn't there and taxis are scarce in the area.

Would definitely stay there again.
