The Duporth has been our favourite holiday accommodation for many years from when our children were young, they now have children of their own. So we have been here countless times in different apartments booking for ourselves & numerous times for our international guests & local friends. But this last time (21 days) was a disappointment. Unit 302 had a sub standard 6 inch foam mattress in the main bedroom, the cold air went straight through it & chilled you all night long, & there were no blankets or quilts, only cotton summer types not suitable for any cold snaps. The kitchen washing up brush was so worn it just didn't do its job,& the toilet brush was in similar condition. Just how expensive are they to replace? When we mentioned that the unit wasn't to international standard, we were told that every unit owner decorated their own apartment. If the unit owner can't uphold a high standard, which the booking staff can check on, the pricing should reflect that, not charging the same fee for anything substandard. The decor was very dated & the solid glass coffee table ( so heavy it can't be moved) was the cause of foot injury with blood loss. The lack of wifi & old televisions in the rooms with so many remotes made watching anything a chore. Very different experience to the other apartments & houses in the area that we were privileged to book in the previous 8 weeks. All those have the smart tv's , U-Tube, Netflix & unlimited wifi, they were also well stocked with dishwasher tablets, detergents & hand pump soaps. Even the Airbnb's & stayz had high standards with pricing that was competitive, & they had private pools, well appointed kitchens & (4-5)bedrooms & close to everything you'd need. The views at the Duporth are amazing, but the apartment still has to function as a gathering place for family, guests & friends, & when it's nighttime, the view isn't the main focus.
I'm sure that if I owned a unit here & bought thin foam mattresses in single, double or queen sizes, it would still pass as a rental. Standards dictate that king single beds are as small as you go, unless you have 2 double sized beds in a room, queen size is acceptable in a second room & for the main bedroom it's king sized bed as a minimum.
The office staff must hear so many comments, I guess that's why they treat you like you're unthankful,& you know they are not even going to mention your concerns to the owners.
I've added photos of the mattress(pulled up from the base) with my glasses & pen as a comparison, & those brushes! I've never seen such worn out brushes in my life, they must be years old.

Views excellent.
Staff service professional, friendly and helpful.

We wanted a short winter break to escape Auckland’s wet and miserable winter. Having been in Noosaville only a few months ago we decided to look at Maroochydore for a different experience.

We like the Maroochy River so looked at accommodation on Duporth Avenue. We were conscious that hotels along this strip faced east for lovely morning sunrises but that we needed an apartment on the north side of any building to ensure more than just morning sun – essential for people like us in the winter months.

We found what we wanted in a 3 bedroom apartment in the north tower of The Duporth. It was not as high up as we would have liked but nothing else was available. We booked direct and the whole booking process went without a hitch.

We were very pleased with our apartment – it was spacious, light and well furnished. It was great to have aircon, both for daytime cooling and night-time heating. The kitchen was well set up although we did no cooking at all during our visit – the stove was only used for heating plates on a couple of occasions when we had takeaways.

But I would mention that our apartment only had a single F & P dishdrawer dishwasher. It was OK for us, but would have been inadequate if we had been cooking full meals using saucepans etc. Had there been 6 people (3 bedrooms) it would have been much too small.

The views of the river were lovely and we spent many hours on the balcony looking at the river and its wildlife. The sunrise every morning was spectacular and being in the north tower we also enjoyed sun into the afternoon. Unfortunately, however, there was only one sun lounger so one of us was relegated to one of the chairs around the table. One each would have been great.

The river here is lovely and quiet – no jetskis and boats only go very slowly. So it’s excellent for standup-paddlers, kayakers and, of course, the wildlife. We certainly enjoyed the peace and quiet without screaming engines which can be experienced often nowadays on Noosaville’s river.

The Duporth is very conveniently situated. Big Top is right across the road and has a large Woolworths supermarket and a BWS (for those essential wine supplies!). The major shopping centre of Sunshine Plaza with its great shopping choices is also within walking distance. It’s currently undergoing renovations and expansion so it should be bigger and better when finished.

It’s also close to Ocean Street with its dozens of restaurants. There are also, of course, some excellent restaurants on Duporth Avenue itself. And a relatively short walk to Cotton Tree where there are yet more restaurants. Maroochydore is really an excellent place for those who like good food.

There was, however, one major problem with The Duporth as far as we were concerned - the Tavern on the road side of the property. It is large and very popular. It has long opening hours and we were often kept awake by thumping, loud music and yells and screams from intoxicated people even some time after the tavern closed in the early hours of the morning.

Then at around 6 am every morning there is clattering and banging as bottles and other things from the previous night are cleared out into the rubbish bins. Deliveries start shortly after and carry on all day. More noise. And then there is the constant low noise from extractors and air conditioners etc which carry on 24/7.

This didn’t spoil our holiday, but it definitely affected our enjoyment. Whereas I would probably have awarded our accommodation 5 stars, I can only give it 4 because of this. Maybe if we had been in an apartment higher up the noise would not have been so intrusive – I don’t know. But we would certainly think twice about staying here again because of the tavern factor. A pity as the accommodation, views and access to amenities are all excellent.

I stayed at the Duporth for 5 nights and found it to be a five star experience. The property is located at the river front and all apartments have magnificent views across the river, towards the mountains and out to sea.

The apartments are very large, well furnished and impeccably clean. The whole building is kept in a very clean and tidy condition and the amenities including the pool and gymnasium are maintained to a very high standard.

We arrived at the Duporth late Sunday afternoon when the office was closed. To book in we simply phoned the manager who came down and opened the office and completed the documentation within minutes of our arrival. During the 5 days when we stayed at the Duporth we met a number of the staff working at the premises all of whom were most friendly and helpful.

The location of the Duporth is perfect with a 30 metre walk to the pub, numerous restaurants and cafes within 300 metres of the apartments and a large shopping mall directly across the street.

I could not fault this property in any way and would certainly recommend it to my friends.

Having stayed at the Duporth Riverside apartments in 2015 and been simply stunned by the superior accommodation provided, we were eager to repeat the experience in 2016 and quickly settled into the unique experience of high end luxury living, with every conceivable comfort and provision of features you could wish for.

This is truly an outstandingly sublime, quiet location from which to explore Northern Queensland and its countless attractions, with most journeys taking less than 40 minutes to reach popular destinations such as Montville, Mapleton, Maleny, Eumundi Markets and Noosa Heads via high speed motorways which seamlessly transfer you to your destination.

A visit to the Glass Mountains is a must see location which again is easily reached by car for a memorable visit to unspoilt countryside, with designated walks to explore.

The Duporth Riverside rests on the banks of the Maroochy River with uninterrupted views as far as the eye can see across and down the river, offering spectacular views of interest from the generous sized balconies, all equipped with sun loungers and a comfortable table and chairs to sit and enjoy the clean fresh air and daily river activity. The River forms one of many magnetic attractions to this property which you will continue to admire throughout your stay, offering peace and tranquility after a busy day of sightseeing.

Of paramount importance is the remarkably helpful assistance provided by Leah, Amanda and Bevan who are always available at the reception desk to answer any queries you may have and to deal promptly with any problems you might encounter within your apartment, always ensuring that your holiday experience remains optimised for a rich experience you will want to repeat.

We were very fortunate to have reserved the same apartment on the 8th floor as previously enjoyed, and this time, due to a change of ownership, the decor had been freshened up, with the addition of further attractive features to enhance the overall experience, and we are confident that a third visit is to be planned for 2017!

It would be quite a challenge to find another apartment complex to offer its guests such high value for money with so many attractive features to add to the delight of a visit to Queensland Australia which offers visitors countless attractions to impress and delight.

Within a 5 minute walk of the complex there is the "Big Top" shopping centre with a Woolworths situated within the mall to provide every convenience for both food and non food items with a bewildering array of every conceivable foodstuff including fruit and vegetables you would wish to find. Trolleys are provided to transfer the purchases back to the Duporth Riverside since once you start browsing the food isles. the trolley will quickly fill up as it does at home!

Take a rest from the day to day stresses and relax at the Duporth Riverside which will recharge even the most depleted batteries! A firm favourite, we are very fortunate to have discovered, and you will find the same impact when you visit this jewel on the Sunshine Coast.
