After such a WONDERFUL Christmas Lunch last year, we booked again for this year. We certainly weren't disappointed! The beautiful owners Barbara and Klaus(e) are such professional operators and down to earth beautiful people that run a first class establishment with superb food! Amazingly, their adult children, Anya, her brothers Harley & Couger, with other wonderful staff, support Barbara and Klaus(e). The whole family are just a class act and contribute to the success of the day (not to mention Fritz the accordian player and his wife Lorraine and John May the guitar player). We started off our degustation with complimentary Butterscotch Schnapps, then we moved to our table on the deck with a beautiful view of the Glass House Mountains to then get our next course which their notorious Seafood Chowder, it's to die for! to move onto wood smoked chicken breast, shaved beef & blackforest ham on garden greens and honey mustard dressing. The timing of each course was perfect, not rushed, not too long a wait. In the meantime the staff were VERY attentive; we had French champagne, checking we had enough water etc, the owners make sure the business is run like a German clock!:) We then had blood orange sorbet, to cleanse our palate, the main course came with a beef eye fillet medallion on a dark port wine gravy and a pork fillet medallion on a subtle blue vein cheese sauce with potato mash and steamed vegetables. Everything was perfectly including the vegetables which were fresh and crunchy. The sauce was just superb! We ended with a delightful dessert of coconut pannacotta on a mango coulis, hazelnut roche ice cream and fresh and a serving of Vienna chocolate cake poppy seed and marzipan parfait on an orange sauce. While all this was going on Fritz was playing the accordian and later John May and his guitar was serenading each table/group with classic music. Fritz and his lovely wife Lorraine then magically became Mr & Mrs Santa Claus and proceeded to gift everyone a present in the whole restaurant with cheer and laughter. The end to a perfect day, yet again. Thank you again Barbara, Klaus(e) et al. [We honestly cannot believe that anyone would give poor reviews as Barbara as the owner and front person, is always professional and always provides a high class service and deserves only the best accolades. Barbara and family deserve the respect from clients for providing a high class quality restaurant, in our view]. Thank you, thank you, thank you! xoxoxoxo (Mary & Glenn, Maleny)

We had a really bad experience with the lady owner. My lil girl suddenly felt unwell when we were at the restaurant. We managed to bring her outside the restaurant before she vomited. Next thing I know I was given a bucket and cloth to clean up outside by the owner with no compassion but with anger and some serious attitude. I do not mind cleaning up as it is my lil daughter’s mess but how she approached it was totally unprofessional.
Food we thought was average. Small portion for the price you pay.

Just going for a scenic drive and found this gem of a place. Couldn't resist stopping by for the yummiest of german ciders, hot pretzels and tasty soup. Had views to die for and the friendliest staff who looked after us so well. We'll definitely be back again. ☺

Unbeatable service, setting, food &scenery. Im going to eat my way through the menu. The surprises begin from the moment you enter the front door. I cant wait to go back during winter.
