Hubby knows I like a good burger and heard there was a place that had good one's in Maleny, so one weekend, on the spur of the moment we drove there on a beautiful sunny day. After we arrived the place quickly filled up, some having lunch and some in there for the Devonshire tea which seemed to be popular.
I can't believe how much a burger costs now-days,(and this was no exception at $18ish) but the one's I have had recently have been obviously frozen patties with a dry texture or worse. This one was yummy, home made juicy patty with a relish and salad and cheese on a soft toasted bun. Something had a hint of cumin or curry in it but it didn't overpower anything. The bun - to patty - to relish ratio was perfect and I didn't need to use the BBQ sauce I had ordered on the side like I usually do because it tasted great.
Hubby had a chicken burger and said it was pretty good too. Kids menu was good - fresh ham on the bone from the butcher a few shops down on their ham and cheese toastie and it was big enough for them to share with a side of chips. Chips were good (not the best I've had but not bad either) and they have some delicious, cold tap beer on offer - I didn't even ask what it was but it was nice.
Atmosphere of the café could do with some modernising - chairs weren't that comfy but it was nicely spaced out inside.
Maleny has become quite the trendy little street, full of boutique and hippy shops - we headed to an ice-cream place up the road afterwards that boasted a cheese shop at the front and it was packed. Was a lovely visit to Maleny - check it out if you're ever passing through.
