From the moment we arrived (during a power blackout), we fell in love with this place. The owners, Rowena and Aidan, greeted us by torch-light and helped us bring our gear in, and had set kerosene lamps and candles around the cottage. They had provided a great range of supplies (muffins, milk, juice), and even gave us wine and beer to welcome us. The quiet rainforest setting, in candlelight, with wood-crafted furnishings and beautifully comfortable lounge chairs and beds - it was bliss. My husband and I loved sitting out on the rocking chairs on the verandah watching the abundant bird-life (including owners' own chickens!). We stayed for 3 nights as I was competing in the Yungaburrra Soldier On Triathlon. Rowena even has epsom salts in the cottage for use which I did after the triathlon on Sunday - had a long, relaxing bath in the beautiful old bath-tub. It was a tough triathlon and I actually did not have the usual aches and pains I do after a triathlon event like that - I truly think the epsom salt bath helped! Our daughter came home for a break from Uni and they even did not charge us for this extra person - they were so accommodating. I think they must make their own furniture and other amazing sculptures were around the property. It was a fascinating, very comfortable and beautiful place to stay and my family (myself, husband and 2 daughters) would highly recommend it.
We had the pleasure of staying in the Garden Cottage for a week and had an amazing time. The owners are so hospitable and attentive. The grounds are lush and tropical. The cottage is very comfortable and the furniture was handcrafted by the owners. They were also very helpful in giving us directions to waterfalls and other beautiful places to visit. We love it and will be back.
Was like a food bowl, everywhere you looked you could see produce thriving mango, bananas, avocado etc etc. Beautiful location and an experience to remember.
My wife and I had the pleasure of spending nearly two weeks in this wonderful little retreat in its own environment. The hospitality of the owners, Karena and Aden was wonderful and entertaining. The home cooked meals were something to write home about. You will be in awe of the handsome handmade furniture in the cottage. We highly recommend staying a few days in this unique Bed and Breakfast. Wayne and Kathy Williamson, (Louisiana, USA)
