On the basis of the incredible number of rave reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to have lunch at this place. Hidden away in the Heritage markets, it is tiny and getting a table can be problematic. However, if you have to wait, do so, as I can assure you it will be well worth it. This place is a gem, a cut above the rest.
The first plus is the French owner of this patisserie. He interacts with the customers, giving great advice on what they should choose. Two of us had quiche and salad and the other two had salami, Camembert and salad on a homemade baguette. Both meals were delicious. The best, however, was yet to come. We ordered four different desserts and shared them. Profiteroles, apple tart, tart tartin and crime brûlée. The latter two were flamed by the owner at the table with a blow torch and without a doubt were two of the best desserts I have ever tasted.
At the conclusion of the meal, the owner put berets on our heads and joined us for photos.
This was not just a meal but an experience, and all at a very moderate price.
