We arrived in the dark but could immediately see the fine wood decks and floors to the house. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the shared kitchen, dining and living rooms were well appointed. Breakfast was left in the fridge Nd included bread, jams, juice and milk for cereals. A beautiful property and one I would recommend.
The Summit is one of three accommodation options offered by very pleasant and helpful owners Helen and John. A beautiful house in a stunning environment at the top of Atherton, fully equipped if you wanted to self cater. A fabulous location to use as a base to tour around the Atherton Tablelands. I thought it looked lovely online and would suit our needs but was very delighted that it exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.
Staying at this location was such a blessing to us. John and Helen were incredibly understanding and generous. After realizing we had misunderstood the shared kitchen/living and pool areas, they kindly and very generously offered another solution which catered beautifully for our needs. We would highly recommend both the Summit retreat apartment and the Summit B&B. We ended up in the B&B for one night and had a brief hello in the kitchen with the other people in the morning as we were about to leave, otherwise we didn't notice there were others even there.
Thanks John and Helen for creating such a wonderful space for others to be blessed in, you have done and continue to do a great job! Our hope is you also get time and opportunities to retreat and enjoy time together!
We stayed for almost a week and were happy with our choice. The place is very clean, laid back and comfortable once you get the hang of everything. The big 10 yr old Queenslander is a great building. The interconnection with the other 2 parties that can potentially stay there at the same time is generally limited to morning breakfast, but we were mostly on our own. Would we come back? Yes definitely.
Thanks Helen and John for your tips. We enjoyed our stay in Atherton.
A nice place with lots of space, suited two families, a total of eight all up. The pool was inviting and the deck had amazing views. It made a great base station to visit the surrounding areas and sights.
There are a lot of rules to follow, and when given the keys and told its a good idea to have your kids in bed by seven because its a residential area didnt sit well us from the start. The washing machine was broken when we arrived and also cost $5 per load, also the owners come daily to do thier laundry as well which really invades your privacy of your stay. In this day and age WiFi is generally free, but nope you also had to pay for this as well, not a really big deal, but most hotels and B&B's now provide this free of charge. Make sure the lights are off, don't climb on the rocks around the pool(impossible with kids 4 children under 10), rules, rules and more rules dont put stayers at ease when trying to relax on holiday.
Even a simple dvd player was missing to be able to watch movies. The reception was also a bit scetchy. The owners really need to catch up with what really should be offered at this price.
Would not go back and would not recomend to others as there are to many rules to follow.
