Booked through booking.com back in January for 2 rooms with breakfast & what we thought was the spa experience. Arrived at reception to be told only one room had been reserved luckily we had taken a print out of the confirmation, we were then told breakfast wasn't included (the receptionist was very good and was on the phone several times sorting it). Went down to the pool area to be told we only had access to the pool and sauna & steam room not the spa area. When we entered the pool area the steam room & one of the jacuzzis was out of order. So spent several hrs turning into a prune in the pool as all the beds and seating were taken up already by other people. Woke up this morning put the kettle on to have a cup of tea & only had Earl grey which I had to have but made me want to gag. Also found a letter under our door asking for us to pay £99 for the room we'd already paid for(reception apologized for the mix-up). Went down for breakfast, gave our room numbers to be told breakfast wasn't included so showed our proof again and was allowed to sit down and eat to our hearts content which I must say was delicious with plenty of choice, however I'm afraid we won't be returning in a hurry

Dear Skyepj,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Whittlebury Hall.

We are disheartened to hear that there were elements of your stay that you didn't enjoy. In terms of the booking itself, as well as breakfast in the morning, we apologise for the delay this would have caused, although we are glad to hear it was resolved.

Regarding the Earl Grey tea bag, it is such a shame that you did not contact our 24-hour reception as we would have been more than happy to replace the tea bag with a different type.

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the steam room and the sauna being closed. This would have been done as a last resort due to the facilities not functioning properly. However we work hard to get them re opened as soon as possible.

As part of the Booking.com bookings you do get full use of the leisure club included, however not the spa. This can be booked separately through Booking.com or directly through the Whittlebury Hall Reservations Team.

We hope that we have the opportunity in the near future to welcome you back to Whittlebury Hall.

Kind Regards,

The Guest Relations Team

Visited here with 3 friends for an overnight spa break. Hotel check in was fine but the spa seemed to be very busy when we were checking in. Long queues and not enough staff. We had to ask for a tour of the spa and we had to eat lunch separately (2 and 2) due to the way they had booked our included treatments and couldn’t change them because they we’re so busy. The spa isn’t up to much, it’s not very big and a few things weren’t working and very noisy. Quests to get in to certain steam rooms or ice room etc, not really very relaxing. The treatment was amazing, the staff up near the treatment room seem to be much more organised than the reception area. Really lovely experience up there. The room was ok, pretty standard and what we expected really. Food was really nice throughout our stay particularly in the evening. It could be much better than it is and for us the spa let it down a bit (which is really the main point of our stay!). I wouldn’t go back here.

Very average large conference Hotel, it has a selection of huge car parks, very average rooms, the food standard is nothing special, bustling bar area but not a pleasant place for a quiet drink, never been impressed with Whittlebury Hall very average place to stay.

Quite disappointing and not all the heat experiences were functional, antipasti dinner was more like a snack, options were very limited. Overall, not as great as we normally experience which was quite disappointing

Dear Letitia K,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your review. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your most recent visit, it is a shame we did not have the opportunity to speak with you as we would have rectified things with your dinner and spoken with you about the facilities; we sometimes experience unforeseen maintenance problems with the facilities and have to close them for the health and safety of our guests but we always work hard to open them as soon as possible.

We do hope you decide to return in the future as you have had positive prevous experiences.

Kind regards,
Guest Relations Manager

As a member of the Spa I thought it would be nice to book a Carvery meal for my husband’s birthday. The Carvery is in the Atrium, which is a really nice building. The bar and restaurant were bright and airy. Lots of windows and nicely decorated, it had a nice ambience. We were a little early but were shown to our table straight away. We had three courses, and all the food was delicious. The beef was the best I’ve had at a Carvery. The only complaint was the table service, our starter took ages and it took a long time for our plates to be cleared on every course. However it didn’t spoil the occasion and I would definitely visit here for a Carvery in the future.
