“Just what we needed”

We visited Dale Cottage in January this year (our second visit) for a well needed break after the hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year. The cottage is in a great position, close to lovely walks in the countryside as well as villages such as Bakewell. The views are amazing especially from the bedroom window. The cottage itself is clean, warm (very important for January) and like a home from home, wih everything you need - the king size bed is so comfy! Everything you need in the village and pubs within walking distance, we had a lovely meal at The Farmyard. Can’t wait to go again!

“Poor hygiene”

There are few bad points ....
1) Kitchen spools and fridge very dirty (please have a look to attached foto).
2) very bad shower as the water can not handle two people to shower at the same time.
3) bad communication with the owner.

I am given 3 stars not 1 because the rest of the apartment was clean and nice...

It is a common sense to leave heater on at least at the time of arriving...

Management Response
20 Jan 2018
We're sorry to hear that you found problems at the cottage, Abdul. We pride ourselves on presenting the cottage in a clean condition, and previous reviews endorse this (but it's an old country cottage, after all).

We're not sure what you mean about not allowing two people to shower at the same time - there's only one shower.

We hope you'd book with us again if you're in the area in the future.

We stayed at Dale Cottage in May this year. It had everything we could want and a beautiful location...the village and nearby walks were lovely especially the walk to Milldale which was breathtaking and a nice cold pint at the end. we would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family..a beautiful spot which lived up to my expectations .

“Nice relaxing holiday cottage”
Reviewed 6 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Stayed at the cottage for a week and enjoyed a very relaxing time there. Excellent views out of the back with a table and chairs if the sun was out. Went on walks and days out with the dog and enjoyed watching a few DVDs with the open fire going in the evening. Weather was a bit changeable but that's British weather for you.
